After making a splash in Quiberon, the alcohol-free cellar Qu'importe l'ivresse opened its second location right in the heart of Rennes in November 2024. A refreshing and quirky offering for everyone who wants to treat themselves without alcohol with high-quality, local alternatives.

The Breton cellar reinventing alcohol-free

Who said alcohol-free had to be boring? Certainly not Arnaud and Sophie Bernaert, the founders of Qu'importe l'ivresse, Brittany's first alcohol-free cellar. Here, the two managers have decided to shake up the norms and offer a tasting experience full of surprises without a drop of alcohol. The principle is simple: reinvent the pleasure of tasting by providing quality alternatives to alcoholic products.

Born in Quiberon in July 2024, Brittany's first alcohol-free cellar made quite a splash with a selection of 150 carefully chosen products. Riding the wave of this success, Arnaud and Sophie opened a second location in Rennes the following November, featuring an expanded collection of over 350 carefully selected products, giving the people of Rennes an exciting array of drinks that compete with traditional cellars.

A Diverse and Surprising Selection

Behind the well-stocked shelves of the shop, you'll find a range that’s bursting with character. From alcohol-free wines, sparkling drinks, beers and ciders, cocktail bases, and gourmet beverages to accompany meals, not to mention other soft drinks… Here, there are no diluted products or sugary fillers!

artificial flavors but quality drinks, most often organic and local. The cellar works closely with Breton producers – like the non-alcoholic cider from Maison NOA located in Ploufragan, Pulp' fruit juices produced in Saint-Malo, or the elegant artisanal sodas from the Rennes brand Okipic – but doesn't hesitate to venture beyond the borders to offer quality wines produced elsewhere in Europe.

For those who enjoy a good wine, non-alcoholic wines, created through a gentle low-temperature evaporation process, ensure authentic flavors without the addition of artificial aromas or sugar. As for cocktail enthusiasts, they will find a wide range of bases that closely resemble classic gins, rums, and whiskeys, perfect for recreating their favorite mixes. But one of the shop's biggest successes is the pairing of meals with gastronomy beverages, infusions, fruit macerations, or fermentations, which pair wonderfully with the most refined cuisines.

An Unforgettable Tasting Experience

« A drink tells a story, says Sophie, and the best way to tell it is to taste it. t-weight: 400;">» Keen to provide their customers with an immersive experience, Arnaud and Sophie turn every visit into a unique moment by offering personalized tastings. « We let you taste everything », they proudly declare. It's a way for the two managers to ensure customer satisfaction, while also helping them discover new flavors, often a delightful surprise for the taste buds of their consumers.

In addition to daily tastings, mixology workshops and private tasting sessions (for individuals and companies) are regularly organized to immerse participants in this world and allow them to master the art of alcohol-free pairings, from appetizers to desserts.

The goal is clear: to allow those who do not consume alcohol – whether for health reasons, personal choice, or simply to discover new flavors – to experience moments of conviviality with the same taste pleasures as everyone else. It's an approach that makes all the difference and is sure to delight more than a few
