Every year, Pommery invites you 30 meters underground for a brand new contemporary art exhibition. An unusual journey into the heart of the caves and the park of the Pommery House, a must-do for any getaway to Reims.
The art of opening champagne cellars: the Pommery heritage
Built in 1868 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Pommery estate is an unmissable stop on the Champagne cellar tour. With its 18 kilometers of galleries and its monumental staircase of 116 steps, you dive straight into the history of the House. It was Madame Pommery herself (Queen) who transformed ancient Gallo-Roman underground quarries into cellars and decided to open them to the public. And hold onto your hats: they can hold up to 25 million bottles!
