Reims Polar: a grand 6th edition filled with screenings and meet-ups!

There are some annual events you wouldn’t miss for the world, especially if you’re a film lover. Among them is Reims Polar, which will hold its 6th edition from March 31 to April 5. This international crime film festival will showcase films in competition, retrospectives, meetings, masterclasses, but most importantly, six days of sharing and exchanging around what makes film noir so excellent. And for this edition, the juries will include Emmanuelle Devos — president —, Ophélie Bau, Mathieu Demy, Delphine Gleize, Thierry Klifa, Grégory Montel, and Alix Poisson.

A festival filled with tributes, celebrations, and premieres 

In total, around forty films will be showcased at this festival, with the opening on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, marked by the French premiere of The Rope Around the Neck by Gus Van Sant, hitting theaters starting April 15th. The guest of honor for this edition, the director will be celebrated with a retrospective series including Drugstore Cowboy, To Die For, Elephant, and Paranoid Park

The next day, Wednesday, April 1st, The Cry of the Guards by Claire Denis will be screened as a preview, in the presence of the director and Isaac de Bankolé. Friday, April 3rd, promises to be the busiest and most exciting day. We’ll enjoy Indomptables by Thomas Ngijol, winner of the Claude Chabrol Prize, followed by a screening of The Butcher by Claude Chabrol. The Criminals by David Mackenzie will also be shown for the first time to the French audience, with the director in attendance. Likewise, the much-anticipated new series, Until I Kill You by Julia Ford, will have two episodes aired.

Saturday, April 4th, will shine a spotlight on Corsican crime dramas. Seven feature films and five short films will be presented, along with two episodes of the series Paolo.

Sébastien Marnier's films will also be shown. It will be Rachel Lang's film Mata that will close the festivities. Sunday, April 5th, will be dedicated to the re-screenings of the competition films and the "New Blood" films.

Thematic meetings with professionals from the 7th Art

During the various screenings, there will be moments for exchange. On Wednesday, April 1st at 2 PM, the novelist, screenwriter, and actress, Anne Berest, will participate in the meeting titled « The Screenwriter's Lesson ». At 5 PM, the American director Gus Van Sant will take the stage for « The Cinema Lesson ». These meetings are open to the public, with reservation.

On Thursday, April 2nd, alongside the editor-in-chief of France 3 Champagne-Ardenne, Matthieu Mercier, Simon Bouisson, Michel Sejean, and Didier Rosselin will discuss the theme « Cybercrime vs Cybersecurity ». The following day, Friday, April 3rd at 4:30 PM, the comedian Damien Bonnard will join the discussion.

And since the Corsican thriller will take center stage on Saturday, April 4, a round table moderated by Karim Ghiyati will allow guests Julien Colonna, Stéphane Demoustier, Thierry de Peretti, Frédéric Farrucci, and Julie Allione to discuss the theme « The Corsican Thriller: A Territory between Myth and Reality ». An intense week that promises to take us on a true emotional roller coaster with the rhythm of a cinema that is as dark as it is vibrant.

And because the surprises don't stop there, come experience the Cinema Experience at SONY by testing out the best in televisions and soundbars at FNAC Reims Centre. A SONY host will welcome you throughout the festival for demonstrations of the Bravia 8 II and the BAR 9 as well as for a chance to participate in a raffle with the latest flagship SONY WH-1000X headset as the prize.M6 to win.
