In a few weeks, an absolutely gigantic space entirely dedicated to Japanese culture will open at the gates of Paris, and we couldn’t be more excited! To explore this grand space, head to the Porte de La Villette, and more...recently The Mausoleum, an old supermarket that has been taken over by street artists for a few years, is getting ready to experience a second youth.

On over 40,000 m² of land, craftspeople and chefs have been carefully selected to bring you the best of Japanese cuisine and crafts. You'll find ceramics, jewelry, stationery, origami, and koinobori – those delightful carp-shaped kites – all sharing space with various stalls.overflowing with sushi, the stands of yakitori skewers, and the steams of ramen, all set in a festive atmosphere thanks to the many activities offered.
A multifunctional space
In the heart of this giant warehouse that has been completely renovated, you can enjoy giant tables where you can settle in to savor all your culinary finds, and an huge Japanese garden, perfect for enjoying the beautiful days. For the more adventurous, there will be inflatable sumo wrestling matches, and for those who are more patient, you can learn the art of origami, make onigiri, or even try your hand at kitsungi to repair your broken dishes with gold leaf.

When it comes to fun and games, both young and old can take a break in the screening room to (re)discover the best Japanese films (aka the Ghibli, I don’t want to hear anything else!). A unique escape game will plunge you into the twists and turns of the Tokyo subway, which is quite different from our good old RATP lines, and arcade machines will offer you all the classic video games from the 80s and 90s in a gaming space.
