What are the jobs that the French dream of and people around the world? Remitly has delved into this question and conducted a study in 145 countries. The results are based on data collected between May 2025 and June 2026, featuring the internet search “how to become…”. Let's take a look at the professions that capture everyone’s interest!
The "traditional" jobs preferred by the French
While one might expect that jobs related to digital, social media, and artificial intelligence would be on the rise, in France, it’s actually more “traditional” professions that make up the top 10. At the top of the list is the profession of firefighter, which sees 21,600 searches on average!
and « how to become… ». It is followed by nurse, then steward/flight attendant in third place. Next, we find SAMU professions, real estate agent, pilot, speech therapist, police officer, actor, and finally caregiver. Jobs Related to AI in 2026 Study
Worldwide, the results vary slightly. And for the first time, the profession of actor takes the top spot, replacing pilot, which had been at the top in the last two editions of the study. The following professions are in the global top 20: actor, pilot, firefighter, lawyer, YouTuber, veterinarian, flight attendant, police officer, real estate agent, DJ, judge, physiotherapist, emergency medical technician, prosecutor, astronaut, doctor, nurse, diplomat, voice actor, entrepreneur.
Other professions are seeing increased interest, especially those related to AI: prompt engineer, or AI specialist, for instance.
