Three solutions offered to passengers whose flight is canceled
And when there's a change in the schedule, it means some flights will be canceled, even though this affects only « less than 2% of the flight schedule » during this period. Passengers whose flight is affected will receive a text message and an email from the airline. They will then have three options: reschedule the flight, receive a credit for a future booking, or get a full refund for the ticket price.
The price of kerosene doubled
Such a decision is made due to the war between the United States and Iran, which is paralyzing the Strait of Hormuz through which a significant portion of the world's hydrocarbon production passes.
Fuel costs (on average 20%) are usually steady. Half of the kerosene used in Europe comes from Gulf countries.
