It’s the train line we’ve been eagerly waiting to return, and with the arrival of spring, it couldn’t be more perfect! Closed since August 27, 2023, due to a landslide that made it impassable, the direct SNCF train connection between Paris Gare de Lyon and Milan is set to be accessible to travelers once again. This exciting news comes just a few months after the launch of the Paris-Berlin line. So mark your calendars for March 31st to (re)discover Italy by train!

Three Daily Round Trips

Travel between France and the Boot will be a daily affair! In total, three round trips, down from five previously, will be made each day for a journey of about 7 hours. From Paris, trains will leave at 6:46 AM, 9:46 AM, and 2:48 PM, while from Milan, departures will be at 6:00 AM, 12:10 PM, and 4:10 PM. Two train companies connecting Paris and Milan

The SNCF isn’t the only train company setting up a connection between the French capital and Milan. Starting from April 1, 2025, Trenitalia will also operate the journey with two round trips daily. These trains will depart at 7:30 AM and 3:18 PM from Paris, and at 6:25 AM and 3:53 PM from Milan. There will also be stops at the stations in Lyon, Chambéry, Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, Modane, Oulx, and Turin. Tickets start at a delightful €35 for second class.
