Summer holidays are approaching, and you dream of exploring every corner of Europe, but the budget you have for this trip is quite limited? For younger travelers (16-27 years old), the rail pass allows you to enjoy getaways all over the country for only 49 euros. But here's some good news, there is a second option to enjoy trips abroad available to all age groups. Thanks to a new train route, you will be able to explore 8 cities in three different countries in Southern Europe. All of this for less than 10 euros.

An offer available all summer

Hop on board a train operated by Slovenian railways for a getaway between Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia. This line, closed for over 50 years, was reopened at the end of April as part of the project "European Substance Interreg Central Europe". It is expected to remain operational until at least September 30th.

A journey worthy of the greatest adventures

The departure is from Villa Opicina, close to Trieste in Italy and then takes you to Sežana, Divača, Pivka and Ilirska Bistrica in Slovenia. The path continues to Šapjane, Opatija Matulji and Rijeka in Croatia. The travel time? Two hours. Depending on your plans, you can either stay until the last stop or exit earlier to explore the city of your choice. The price of a regular ticket is only 8 euros. If you plan to travel with family, note that the journey is free for children under 6 years old, and is half price for children aged 6 to 12.
