Become a guardian to preserve this exceptional natural heritage
No, you won’t become the owner of this island, but you would be its guardian. Among your missions, you’ll get to explore it and contribute to its preservation. According to a study by YouGov, 44% of respondents would be inclined to retreat to their own island to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Being one of the five lucky individuals would be an opportunity to enjoy that well-deserved break, alone, away from a society in constant motion.
Applications now open
To have a chance to be selected, you need to submit an application.From February 17, 2026. To do this, you need to send a video showcasing your creativity and motivation, which will be reviewed by a jury. If you are one of the five selected individuals, you will win the trip to Sweden, the right to use the island for a year, and a diploma certifying your role as a guardian. And if you’re not chosen, don’t worry, Sweden will still welcome you with open arms: “Between peaceful lakes and wild coastlines, an island awaits every traveler,” says Susanne Andersson, Managing Director of VisitSweden.
