Easter and the May holidays are just around the corner. Perhaps you're dreaming of traveling to the four corners of Europe? Suddenly, the reality of prices – very generously inflated since everyone decides to travel at the same time – hits a little too hard. No worries, we've made the same mistake. However, there are alternatives that are just as exotic, and certainly much cheaper. Airbnb has even put together a ranking of the most welcoming French towns in 2024 and those expecting a rise in bookings in 2025. It's sure to spark some great getaway ideas!

Normandy particularly cherished in 2024

Dear Parisians, no need to...

;going far away to feel that getaway sensation and a change of scenery. In 2024, Normandy was particularly trendy. Champigny-la-Futelaye, in Eure, was one of the most welcoming towns, and for good reason: it’s just a stone’s throw from the must-see and fabulous gardens of Giverny. La Fresnaie-Fayel, in Orne, is also a great spot for cheese lovers. We also find Friaize, in Centre-Val-de-Loire, thanks to its closeness to medieval towns, Escandolières in Occitanie for its many hiking trails, and Buellas in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for its delicious local cuisine.

Reservations on the Rise, Especially in PACA

In 2025, Airbnb reported a significant increase in bookings across four additional villages. Vaison-la-Romaine in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region is particularly cherished for its rich ancient and medieval history and its Gallo-Roman archaeological site. Paray-le-Monial in Burgundy-Franche-Comté is also a hit for those wanting to indulge in the delights of Burgundy's cuisine. Malaucène in PACA is the choice for nature lovers, while Noyers-sur-Cher in the Centre-Val-de-Loire attracts those eager to explore Beauval Zoo. So, have you picked your next destination ?
