The start of a new year means it's resolution time! And this year, we’ve made up our minds: no more procrastination, let’s optimize our vacation bookings and do everything by the book. Say goodbye to wobbly rentals, unavailable options, or overpriced places because we waited too long, acted too soon, or just fumbled the process. To help us along the way, Abritel has analyzed its users’ booking habits to give you the most accurate and precise vacation rental booking calendar possible.

Planning Ahead for the Year’s Holidays

Grab your notebooks and pens, take note! For spring break, the best time to book, according to Abritel, is before January 21, 2025, while the final deadline is February 18. For the Ascension bridge – from May 29 to June 1 – ideally, you should look into your bookings before March 1, and if time gets away from you, you can still manage until March 31.

Summer is the most expensive season since the whole of France is on vacation at the same time, so it's definitely wise to plan ahead. Aim to book before February 24, and up until April 14 at the latest. For the All Saints' holidays, you absolutely must book before August 15. The deadline...

is set for September 7th. Winter will soon be back, and if you're planning a getaway for the Christmas holidays, it's best to book your vacation rental before September 7th and by October 3rd at the latest. Finally, for the winter holidays of 2026, make sure to book before October 28th, and by December 23rd, 2025 at the latest.

The Need to Plan Ahead for Mediterranean Islands

The conclusion is clear: the earlier, the better! For certain destinations, especially the Mediterranean islands, it's especially important to plan ahead. For Corsica, the Balearic Islands, and Crete, it’s best to make reservations before the end of January, while for Finistère and Costa Brava, the deadline is February 10th. “If you wait too long, you might also miss out on your preferred location and certain amenities like a pool or a terrace with a view.”p;», says Xavier Rousselou, spokesperson for Abritel. So if you already have some travel plans, don’t wait any longer !
