A few weeks ago, we introduced you to some fabulous European islands that don’t get much attention, but shine like gems of our continent. This time, we’re taking you back to the roots with the discovery of three fabulous islands located in France, which we believe deserve more spotlight. Perfect for some weekend ideas, or even a holiday!
The Island of Batz
Located off the coast of Roscoff in northern Finistère, you'll find the Island of Batz. Just a 15-minute boat ride away, this island offers everything beautiful: turquoise waters, varied landscapes, and a multitude of things to discover.
The lighthouse of the island is a must-see! It was built in 1836 and stands 44 meters tall. We also rush over to the Georges Delaselle Botanical Garden, which houses an impressive collection of plants from all around the world. It's open daily from April to November.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
The Island of Port-Cros
Another French gem all dressed in shades of blue and green! The Island of Port-Cros is located in Var, off the coast of Hyères. Here, you can enjoy a lush vegetation that is 100% Mediterranean, contrasting beautifully with the typical red rocks of the region. It's perfect for hiking enthusiasts, bursting with numerous trails like the Plant Trail, the Writers' Trail, as well as the Crests or Port-Man circuits. For those who prefer relaxation, lounging on the Notre-Dame beach or the Palud beach would be the best choice.
