With an unstable international situation, summer vacation plans are a bit disrupted. Many French and Europeans are betting on traveling shorter distances to avoid overspending. It's the perfect time to remind you of the gems that Europe has to offer, especially those countries you wouldn’t usually consider this summer, even though they deserve a visit!

1. England

No, it doesn't rain all year in England—quite the opposite! Summers are particularly lovely, with warm but pleasant temperatures. From Kent to Cornwall, in the...Sant by Sussex, Dorset, or even Somerset, the "counties" (sort of like departments in France) of southern England are bursting with cultural treasures, charming little villages that we just can't ignore, and of course, there's the sea—perfect for those who associate summer with beach days. Our favorites? Brighton, Folkestone, Plymouth, or Bristol.

2. Austria

In the summer, there are two types of people: those who are all about the beach at any cost, and those who only dream of hiking the mountain trails. And let me tell you, Austria shines as the paradise of nature lovers. Whether on foot, by bike, or even paragliding for the boldest, you can joyfully explore the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Adlerweg (Eagle Trail) or the Kaiserkrone in Tyrol. If you prefer to take it slower, you’ll love the lakes, like Lake Constance.

3. Montenegro

Montenegro is not often talked about, yet this country has more than a few tricks up its sleeve to surprise you. Let's start with the temperature: between 25°C and 35°C on the hottest days. Next, we have beaches lined with turquoise water from the Adriatic Sea. And let’s not forget the numerous activities available: nature lovers will be thrilled by the Biogradska Gora National Park, while those seeking thrills can dive into water sports. In Kotor or Herceg Novi, festivals and summer events are happening all throughout the summer.

4. Norway

In Norway, during the summer, you don't sleep! Not because we're partying, but because the midnight sun shines almost all night, giving the landscapes that absolutely gorgeous golden hue — especially in the northern part of the country. And long days mean plenty of opportunities to try out lots of activities: hiking, biking, or even camping for the more adventurous. Just a heads up to pack some warm clothes: the temperatures can be a bit chilly.

5. Romania

Between culture, nature, and the beach, Romania shines as a country that will delight everyone, no matter their desires or interests. You can take in the breathtaking views on the Transfagarasan, an incredible road that winds through the mountains of the Transylvanian Alps. You can also just bask in the sun on the beaches along the Black Sea or enjoy the unique heritage of towns like Sighișoara, which blends colors and a medieval atmosphere.
