A culinary gem recognized around the globe

Particularly known worldwide, Peruvian cuisine is one of the richest and most diverse. It has its roots in a delightful blend of influences from Spanish, Asian, African, and European cultures. Among the iconic dishes, you’ll find Ceviche, the national dish, as well as Aji de gallina, a chicken stew, and Causa limeña, a cold mashed potato dish with lemon, avocado, and a filling of tuna, chicken, or seafood. Chefs Gastón Acurio, Virgilio Martínez, and Manuel Huerta have all been celebrated on the international culinary scene.

An extraordinary cultural heritage

The Peruvian culture is once again in the spotlight in this edition of the World Travel Awards. The birthplace of the Inca civilizations, Peru today boasts an unmatched heritage in terms of architecture, art, music, traditions, and beliefs. Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the modern world, has also been honored as the Best Tourist Attraction in the World for the 6th time and is the first to be certified as carbon neutral. So if you were searching for the ideal destination for a grand trip in 2025, look no further; Peru is just waiting for you
