Another wonderful point not to overlook in Besançon is the diversity of landscapes that allows for a whole bunch of super fun sports activities. Thanks to the mountains, you can give via ferrata and climbing a try, and why not even catch the world championships of climbing events that take place every year in July. But if you prefer to be more like a fish than a little monkey, then try to tame the white waters of the Guisane and Durance through rafting, kayaking, or hydrospeed.
