From Spanish Beaches to Greek Coves
It's probably the sunniest cycling route in Europe! Still under development between Cadiz and Barcelona, EuroVelo 8 kicks off for cyclists on the Gibraltar Strait, before tracing up Spain through iconic cities like Malaga, Granada, Alicante, and Valencia, all the way to the vibrant capital of Catalonia. Next up is the French coast, starting with the Albères – where the Pyrenees dive into the sea – with the majestic Mont Canigou as a backdrop, before crossing all the proud towns of the South, from Arles to Cannes, including Nice. Over in Italy, we stick to the north, passing through the Italian Alps to Turin, as well as the Po Valley and the Venice Delta, before continuing our journey towards Trieste and Slovenia.
A few Slovenian lakes later, we find ourselves with the Adriatic Sea as our travel buddy, following us along the way.
sail all the way to Dubrovnik in Croatia. Next, we find ourselves in the Balkan-style Mediterranean, crossing the roughly 14 kilometers that Bosnia and Herzegovina has along the coast, skimming past the stunning Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, then on to Albania and its capital, Tirana. After that, we’re there: we pedal south through Greece, amidst ancient stones and breathtaking landscapes, all the way to Athens.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
