We're only at the beginning of January, but already, wanderlust is creeping in. New cultures, new cuisines, new landscapes… Awe and discovery are the keywords for this year 2025. Yes, but to fully enjoy our getaways, we wouldn’t say no to some unconventional places and destinations that are far from the spots likely to attract crowds. So, we've chosen five gems from Europe and beyond that you may already know, or, on the other hand, will broaden your horizons. Happy travels!

Alberobello, Italy

This is a true little Italian gem nestled in the Apulia region, in the south of the country. There’s nothing quite like Alberobello. Its uniqueness? It’s made up of dry stone houses topped with conical roofs, which you nicknamed "Trulli". A truly unique architecture that has earned Alberobello a spot among the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Besides these original houses, people visit to explore the Museo del Territorio, which focuses on agriculture and the rural universe of the past, as well as the chiesa di Sant’Antonio – the main church of the town, or the Trullo Sovrano, the only house that spans two levels.

Yoho, in British Columbia

There are dozens of natural parks in Canada. But Yoho undoubtedly stands out as one of the most breathtaking. Covering a total area of 1313 km2, it leaves us speechless as it encompasses everything: lakes, forests, glaciers, waterfalls. Even though it's the smallest national park in the region, it showcases the very best that Canadian nature has to offer. We happily go there to hike and get up close with this lush vegetation. Among the must-sees, you’ll find Emerald Lake, this emerald lake where the sky and surrounding peaks reflect beautifully. There are also the stunning Takakkaw Falls, with a height of 373 meters, and the Wapta Falls.

Inari, in Finland

A little slice of paradise and serenity, right in the heart of Finnish Lapland. In winter, Inari treats us to breathtaking snowy landscapes as far as the eye can see, while in summer, the town glows with a delicate golden light thanks to the midnight sun, when the sun never sets. There, you can enjoy the amazing forest landscapes that are perfect for a stroll. In the surrounding area, you can also indulge in a rafting session, enjoy a cultural moment at the Siida Museum dedicated to the Sami people, visit a reindeer farm, and of course, take a break in a sauna as is the Finnish tradition.

Galicia, in Spain

It's nicknamed the Brittany of Spain, and for good reason: with its lighthouses, landscapes, and charming little towns, Galicia bears a strong resemblance to the famous region in western France. Made up of four provinces – A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense, and Pontevedra – Galicia is filled with wonderful treasures that make the northwest of Spain truly unique. In addition to its postcard-worthy landscapes, Galicia is especially renowned for its cuisine. Fish and seafood are particularly popular here, along with empanada and the tarta de Santiago, a typical pastry from the city of Santiago de Compostela.

Branson, in the United States

How about spending a stay in a real movie set? Head over to Branson, in Missouri. This little town in the southern United States is exactly what you might picture when you think of the classic American town. Rich in over 50 theaters and performance venues, it offers an unmatched cultural diversity. You can’t miss the Titanic Museum Attraction, the Silver Dollar City amusement park that transports you back to 19th century America, or Dolly Parton’s Stampede, which promises to deliver a moment of wonder with its dinner shows.
