Summer is coming in by leaps and bounds, and it’s now time to book your vacation — if you haven’t done so yet. Due to the uncertain international context, many French people are choosing to stay in Europe this year. The problem is: the continent is full of surprises and wonders, and making a choice can turn out to be trickier than it seems. Fortunately, Europe's Best Destinations just released their selection of the best beaches for 2026. This should help us out a bit more!
Five Greek beaches in the ranking
Greece is already going to be particularly popular this year due to ...its many paradise islands, but also thanks to its beaches. In the top 10 ranking of Europe's Best Destinations, it’s a Greek beach, Voutoumi Beach in Antipaxos, that takes the second spot. Primarily accessible by boat, this beach is perfect for family outings or for anyone looking to enjoy some snorkeling.

In 3rd place, we have another Greek beach, Fteri Beach, located in Kefalonia: a wild beach where the water is crystal clear and the sand is white. Coming in 4th is Elafonisi Beach in Crete, particularly famous for its pink sand. Sunbeds and umbrellas are often available there. Greece shines once again in 8th place with Rovinia Beach in Corfu, a pebble beach surrounded by lush vegetation and cliffs. You can get there on foot or by boat. Lastly, Paleokastritsa Beach, also in Corfu, takes the 10th spot. It offers plenty of water activities, as well as restaurants and cafes.
France missing from the top 10
Besides Greece, some other countries stand out. Notably, Portugal with Monte Clerigo - The Sunset Beach in 1st place. It is loved for its size and its fabulous surrounding landscapes,
but also for its simplicity, far from the beaches of large tourist resorts. In 5th place, we have Bogliasco Beach near Genoa in Italy, a pebble beach surrounded by typical colorful fishermen's cottages. Cala Mesquida in Mallorca, Spain ranks 6th. Stretching over 300 meters, this fine sandy beach is postcard-worthy. Kvalvika Beach in Moskenesoy, Norway (7th place) certainly offers the most spectacular view, with turquoise waters and high green cliffs. Finally, Turkey makes it into the ranking with Kaputas Beach. Nestled in a small nook at the foot of the cliffs, it's located at the bottom of a staircase with 187 steps and shines as a true European gem.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
