The Eiffel Tower? Overrated. The Louvre Museum? Out of style. The Palace of Versailles? Been there, done that. These days, tourists from all over the world come to visit Paris and its well-known hotspots, but that's not all… Highlighted by Le Parisien in its “The Tourist” section, some places beyond the capital attract crowds. And let's just say, some are totally unusual!

The Francilian Costco

This is probably the most astonishing on the list. Besides visiting the most beautiful museums in the world and strolling through the charming, typically Parisian streets, tourists don't hesitate to use their Navigo and take the RER to go to… Costco. Because yes, the American company also has its stronghold in Île-de-France, more specifically…

In Pontault-Combault, you'll find, of course, a wonderful selection of products straight from the United States, including XXL jars of peanut butter and beef jerky. The concept? A bulk self-service principle, accessible with an annual fee of €36. It's clearly the perfect haven for American tourists longing for home.

@mayplaystv did you know you can visit a costco in every country that has one with the same membership card? so i went to the one in paris, france #costco #paris #costcofinds #france #fyp @costcofrance ♬ original sound - May 🏝

The Câble C1

Surprising but true: more and more tourists are making their way to Créteil! Not by RER this time, but with a new attraction that made a splash last December in the Parisian landscape, the installation of the Câble C1, the longest urban cable car in Europe. It's an efficient transport option for Parisians who dread the traffic on the périphérique, and also a wonderful way for tourists to see Paris and its surroundings from the sky, all for the simple price of a metro ticket.

The Abraxas Spaces

Another popular destination? Noisy-le-Grand, just about thirty minutes from central Paris. And for good reason, it's here that you'll find the Abraxas Spaces, a building with striking brutalist architecture that has become a true tourist attraction. At the same time, this place has turned into a must-see in popular culture: you can spot it in big film productions like The Hunger Games and Brazil, as well as in the very trendy music video of Rosé, the singer from BLACKPINK. A getaway that offers a view quite different from the famous zinc rooftops of Paris!
