We are soon in 2020, oh my goodness. For the occasion, we have gathered 10 good news that have put a big smile on Paris since 2010, just to give you a little dose of nostalgia before the end of the decade. And Happy New Year, huh.
1. Pedestrian quays along the Seine
We have to start with some fantastic news that has truly changed our lives. Because yes, today it seems almost normal to stroll leisurely along the Seine, but remember the time when cars used to drive there at full speed! And even though it's true that it was really convenient when you took a taxi late at night to quickly get back to your bed, having fewer cars is good news for climate change and for our wallets (walking is cheaper than taking a taxi).
2. Abandoned spaces transformed
Le Kilowatt (Vitry), les Grands Voisins (14th arrondissement), la Cité Fertile (Pantin), la Ferme du Bonheur (Nanterre)… We could go on listing the incredible abandoned spaces that have been transformed into vibrant places
.Not to mention many others, but you get the idea.3. The new bike paths
For the same reason we love being able to walk along the Seine, we love riding a bike there too. As a result, we fully support the long bike path along the quays, as well as the numerous others that have been created over the past decade, including those on Rue de Rivoli, Boulevard Beaumarchais, Boulevard Sébastopol, and more.

4. Open air events
It was about time, but Berlin has finally taken over Paris. The coolest city in the world has greatly influenced many new places in Paris, we're talking about all these open air events, all these Berlin-inspired parties, we just need the price of beer to align and we should be good.
5. Bulk stores
In general, anything related to zero waste, bulk shopping, and initiatives aiming to save the environment should be applauded. Bulk stores, stores for ugly fruits and vegetables, organic shops, zero waste boutiques... I'm sure you have one near you, so what are you waiting for?
6. Party
Anyone who has tried to party in Paris knows that it can be a rather difficult task. The nightlife scene has its ups and downs, but when you find the right place and the right crowd, it can be an unforgettable experience.
Before the 2010s, Aris knows exactly what I'm talking about. It was nice, you know, I'm not criticizing, but the number of bars, clubs, and incredible parties completely skyrocketed at the beginning of the 2010s. What a time, my friend, what a time to be young and have fun!Voir cette publication sur Instagram
7. Gastronomy
If we have to thank Instagram for one thing, it's for creating crazy competition among all the restaurants in the capital. Therefore, the quality of food is constantly improving, much to the delight of our taste buds. We can't get enough of discovering all the absolutely delicious restaurants that are popping up.
8. Urinals in the street
Yes, they are only for men, and there is clearly a lack of urinals that are suitable for half of the population, which is the female gender. Because ladies also sometimes have urgent pee needs, gentlemen. Anyway, before urinals were installed along the Quai de Valmy, men would relieve themselves abundantly along this canal, and oh boy, it stank. Now we have an ugly thing in front of our eyes, but at least it's better than the smell.
l;a sent meilleur. Ça, c'est une bonne nouvelle. 9.
10. Alternative means of transportation
VTC, electric bikes, and other scooters, you either love them or hate them, everyone has their own thing. But let's admit one thing, these new alternative means of transportation have completely revolutionized the way Parisians get around, and have even allowed them to save quite a bit of money.
BONUS: Internet on the subway... oh wait.
