The Editor

"The sky is blue, the weather is good...” Spring is here so instead of hiding in bars, we head to the most beautiful squares in the 9th and 18th districts!"

Gustave Toudouze Square

"So beautiful". That's what everyone says when they arrive at Toudouze Square. Colorful terraces and storefronts gaze at the public benches. Whether you're on one or the other, you always feel good on this square, nestled between the bustling streets of Martyrs and Notre-Dame-de-Lorette. In fact, that's the whole point of this little square: hidden and calm. Perfect for a beer in the sun.

Place Goudeau

I call it "place g.". Here, I'll give you one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood, and I won't hide that the arrival of spring gives me butterflies in my stomach because I can't wait to hang out on one of the benches sipping on a can. Imagine this: me, my brother, a comfortable bench, some beer, and a view overlooking Paris. That's pretty much my idea of happiness, to be honest...

Goudeau Square - 18th

Lino Ventura Square

Perfect place to soak up the sun and chat about anything and everything on one of the park benches in this square that borders our beloved Martyrs Street. It's less hidden, so it's a bit livelier than the others, but it's not a place where you would spend hours. Plus, the screams of children on the carousel can quickly give you a headache, unless they're yours...

Place Notre-Dame-de-Lorette

My friend Julie and I love having lunch on the steps of the church. We quickly grab our takeout trays on rue des Martyrs and "there's nothing left to do". All that's left is to let the rays of the sun flood our faces, enjoy a good lunch while chatting happily, and that's it, the afternoon becomes easier to bear. No need to thank us...
