Mauro Colagreco at Raffles
Triple Michelin-starred, Mauro Colagreco loves to fill his plates with sunshine from the Côte d'Azur, where he has set up his most beautiful gem, the Mirazur, crowned Best Restaurant in the World in 2019. However, for the past two years, it’s not the warmth but the gloom, neither the Mediterranean but rather the British terroir, that he has chosen to explore, and this from a recently renovated palace in the Buckingham area, the Raffles. Equipped...With 120 luxurious rooms, the establishment also serves as a hub of gastronomy in London with its nine restaurants, three of which are run by an Argentine chef. Invited to one of them, you slip between its walls and suddenly feel tiny, captivated by the grandeur of the architecture. The simplicity of the decor contrasts beautifully with the stunning environment.1hgl_8">the room where we settle calms instantly, before a true choreography unfolds. For his first stop in London, Colagreco wanted to honor seasonal ingredients, all sourced from Great Britain : each plate revolves around a vegetable, a fruit, or even a flower. In seven courses, we're off on a culinary adventure, exploring the lettuce, the asparagus, the red cabbage or the chocolate, sometimes cooked, raw, confit, stuffed, always elevated, and guided&· by the wonderful Melissa Fergus, holder of the Manager of the Year award at the Hotel Cateys 2024, which recognizes the most successful hotel employees in the UK. An experience that will stay with us for a long time, both human and culinary.

Covent Garden Market
Located in the West End, Covent ```
Garden is the beating heart of theaters and leisure, and one of our favorite activities was getting lost in the paths of its famous "apple market". Originally, it only sold fresh products, but it gradually transformed, thanks to globalization, to offer a delightful array of handcrafted products. Handmade soaps, jewelry, bags, clothing, a magician’s stand, candies, household items: it’s a great opportunity to bring back lots of souvenirs for our loved ones, although you might need to have a bit of a fortune to do so. Welcome to London!

Hyde Park
Once owned by the Abbey of Westminster, Hyde Park was taken over by Henry VIII in 1536 and became fully public in the 17th century, making it one of the oldest parks in the city. You can enjoy all sorts of activities here: from cycling, sunbathing, and rollerblading, to other sports, all while escaping the bustling noise of the city on its peaceful green paths. Plus, for the ultimate experience, you can rent sun loungers and deck chairs in certain areas of the park. Chill!lance assured.

St James's Park
Another park where Henry VIII had his say. In 1532, the King of England purchased the 23-hectare parkland that resembled more of a marshy area.euse -, drains the marshes and uses it as one of his private hunting reserves. A preserved area until the 17th century, it was then transformed into a French-style garden. Charles II eventually gave it its contemporary appearance. To this day, it remains one of the most visited parks in London due to its proximity to the Buckingham Palace, which attracts thousands of visitors daily hoping to catch a glimpse of the Changing of the Guard. We especially loved it for the squirrels that call it home (particularly accustomed to human presence), as well as its artificial lake teeming with thousands of bird species, flowers, shrubs, and cypress trees.

South Bank
Once an industrial area, South Bank is now a vibrant part of London's cultural scene. It might have seemed like a must to first hop on the iconic London Eye, but that would have cost us 42 pounds (almost 50 euros), and you know us at Bonbon, we’re all about those great deals. So, we mostly explored the area by taking the first part of the Queen’s Walk, a lovely stroll along the Thames from Westminster Bridge to the Southwark neighborhood, while enjoying a spritz (not from around here, oops) near the National Theatre, .a building with architecture that is certainly austere but with a sleek design.

Sky Garden
Perched atop a skyscraper of The financial district, the concept of the Sky Garden is absolutely amazing. Halfway between a botanical garden and a futuristic rooftop, this free viewing platform offers a panoramic view of the entire city, from the Thames to the Shard. Under its spectacular glass rooftop, you stroll among palm trees and giant ferns before settling down for a cocktail or a coffee while facing a London sunset. A suspended green oasis 160 meters above the ground, which you need to book months in advance, or else you might show up on the day itself, hopeful, only to be turned away in a flash. True story.
