Going to the museum doesn't always have to be about being stuck in a room staring at paintings, even if they are magnificent but sometimes older than your great great grandparents. It can also be about relaxing and having a drink on a stunning terrace. 

That's right, some of the cultural institutions in Paris also have some of the most beautiful terraces. Let's take a closer look.


Le Musée de la vie Romantique

Without a doubt, this is one of the most beautiful hidden terraces in the capital. It's small, cute, flowery. The big old tree, the bushes surrounding the statues, and the beautiful glass roof, make it feel like a fairy tale. Not necessarily the ideal place to have a drink with friends, but if you're looking for a small sunny terrace for your next date, it's just perfect.

Le Musée de Cluny

Interested in a little journey back in time? Le Musée de Cluny (one of the last Gallo-Roman remains in Paris, along with the Arènes de Lutèce) has a charming terrace, in the most unusual setting.

La Maison de l’Amérique latine

Less known than its Parisian competitors, the Maison de l’Amérique latine is a hidden gem to discover other artists and other forms of cultural expression. And what about its terrace? A green oasis, one of the rare calm spots in the capital, in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood. And on top of that, the food is great. Quality products, well-prepared dishes that take you on a journey, perfect for a summer dinner when you want to escape the Parisian hustle and bustle for a few hours.

Le Petit Palais

With its ponds, palm trees, columns and deck chairs, it's the ideal place to escape and take a real break for a few hours. Fluctuart

It's one of Paris's urban art temples. Fluctuart offers a great setting (right on the Seine), absolutely perfect for an afternoon coffee or an early drink, where you can also enjoy the sunset over the water. It's modern, contemporary, trendy, and affordable... with the extra twist of being located on a houseboat.
