If Saint-Ouen was long only prized for its flea markets, that time is definitively over: hidden gourmet addresses, cinephile canteen, multidisciplinary places where one strolls, creates or listens to music, the Audoniens truly have luck.
For brunch: Bowden's Delicatessen
Just a stone's throw from Porte de Saint-Ouen, around a quiet street and hidden behind brown curtains, you enter Bowden's Delicatessen. No more brunches where the coffee is cold and the juice is lukewarm. At Bowden's, named after one of its founders, you are served in two parts: juice and dishes first, hot drink and dessert afterwards, to take your time. As for the decor, the place is scattered with discoveries and memories of the servers bringing back a piece of their journeys back home. We delighted in eggs Benedict with salmon/lemon on two English muffins, salmon/lemon, organic poached eggs & cheddar sauce, and a superb juice with the sweet name of Tahitian Autumn (mango, fresh organic turmeric, c
One word: go for it! You won't regret trying the delicious crepes with vanilla syrup, or the mouth-watering red fruit French toast. Just thinking about it makes us dream.
Frankly, this place is a fine line between a must-visit and a tourist trap. Often, they go hand in hand. In this case, on the first floor of the flea market, there is a super cool shop where we found an old 2001 edition of "Actuel" magazine. It's iconic.

To chill: Commune Image and its canteen
Inventing a new place of life that facilitates cinematographic creation and its encounter with the public is one of the missions that Marché Dauphine has set for itself.Born Commune Image, a cinema and virtual reality factory located at the gates of Paris. Concretely, you can find a complete post-production arsenal with a community of 40 creators (authors, directors, producers, entrepreneurs, technicians, distributors, and broadcasters) who drive the project from idea to first screening. Whether you're a cinephile or not (it's still recommended), we recommend the canteen of Commune Image that welcomes you during the week and on weekends. Otherwise, you can just catch a movie.

Cultivate yourself: L’Espace 1789
L’Espace 1789 in Saint-Ouen is a must-visit place that offers cinema, dance, theater, and music performances. It's not just for adults; they also have snacks and activities for the little ones. Whether you prefer first-screenings or artist residencies, this is the perfect place for those who don't like crowded spaces.

To support the Red Star: Bauer Stadium
This stadium, over a hundred years old (construction was completed in 1909), has already hosted the Olympic Games, and that was in 1924. Apparently, it will be among the stadiums hosting competitions for the 2024 Olympics, exactly 100 years later! We asked the football fans for their recommendations: "The Olympic café in front of Bauer Stadium, the Bauer Stadium snack bar, the Bauer Stadium merguez stand, the food truck in front of Bauer Stadium." Thanks, guys.
There are places where conviviality reigns supreme, even as you walk through the door. Yaya is one of those places. Pierre-Julien and Grégory Chantzios opened Yaya (named after the grandmothers in Greece) in 2017 at the Manufacture du Design. We sit down at the spacious and cozy covered (and heated) terrace to listen to Gaelle, the manager, who knows the menu inside out and passionately describes it to us. Following her recommendations, we go for the guinea fowl leg, confit parsnip, Jerusalem artichoke puree, and poultry jus with petimizi. Unless you prefer to start with a cocktail? In that case, go for the Old Kalamata for maximum freshness: white Pempero rum, prosecco, fresh mint, lime, and Mediterranean bitters. And for dessert, don't miss out on the chocolate ganache, with its duo of Valrhona dark and white chocolate, roasted figs, and crushed hazelnuts. To die for. This explosion of flavors combined with the warm and Mediterranean atmosphere of Yaya make it a must-visit place in Saint-Ouen.
For strolling, practicing yoga or having a drink with friends: Mob Hotel
Situated in the heart of the Flea Market, Mob Hotel is one of the highlights of Saint-Ouen.Ouen: a organic restaurant bar, a bookstore, gardens for locals, terraces, an open-air cinema, a live stage, workshops, a temporary swimming pool, an ice rink... Try to get bored, you won't be able to.
To enjoy a deliziosa pizza (or any other Italian dish): Gemini Family
A tavola ! The family who already owns two ads.Located in the heart of the new eco-district of the Docks, this new restaurant in Saint-Ouen, which has left its mark in Paris, is here to take the locals on a journey to the heart of Italy. With its raw and natural materials, wooden shelves showcasing jars, bottles of wine, and other Italian wonders, custom-made chairs, beautiful cement tiles on the floor, an open kitchen, and a bar where you can lean while watching the pizza maker work live, this brand-new restaurant is a pleasure to behold.
As an appetizer, you can't resist the stracciatella with truffle oil, a wonder that will leave you speechless! After indulging in some antipasti di Gemini piccolo (seasonal vegetables, Parma ham, and mozzarella) and mozzarella fritters (ouch, they're so good!), you won't be able to resist the conchiglie gorgonzola, linguine a la vongole, or the marvelous fettuccine with truffle cream. Unless, of course, you prefer pizza! In that case, we highly recommend the Bufala e Parma (tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella).
For a gourmet cuisine in a warm atmosphere: La Puce
Highly recommended by a local resident, head to La Puce, a cozy restaurant with an industrial inspiration, offering creative bistro cuisine from the gastronomy world. In terms of wine, the menu is in harmony with small French producers and also includes a foreign selection. Every day, daring suggestions are made for an explosion of flavors just steps away from the flea market.
The recent eviction of the Mains d'Œuvres team has sparked outrage among many Parisians and people from Saint-Ouen. The artists and staff are fighting with all their might to recover, if not their birthplace, a place to practice their art. That's why they are relocating their programming to several places in the East of Paris. Follow their updates on their Facebook page, and long live Mains d'Œuvres!
