A Stroll in Père Lachaise

Paris' largest cemetery holds many surprises and secrets: this place welcomes approximately 3 million visitors each year. Such a vast location, so dear to Parisians, houses so much culture and history that this number is not so surprising. The greatest names are engraved on some of the 70,000 funerary concessions: Guillaume Appollinaire, Oscar Wilde, Jean Racine, Molière, Chopin, Edith Piaf, numerous statesmen... The Parisians have 43 hectares of the cemetery to stroll through this pleasantly green space for free, but also to pay tribute to their legends.

The flea markets of Saint Ouen

The flea markets of Saint Ouen can be paradise for flea market enthusiasts and antique dealers, but they can also become a haven for casual visitors and treasure hunters. It's quite simple, they are the flea markets that gather the most antique dealers in the world! Impressive, isn't it? So let's reserve a day of our weekend to stroll around there with our loved ones or friends.

The most beautiful passages in Paris

Paris has its grand avenues, its Haussmann-style atmosphere as a European capital, but not only that. Many bucolic passages or covered passages with beautiful glass roofs exist throughout the city and they are sometimes a bit overlooked. For the greenest ones, you should head towards the Left Bank, pass through Rue des Termopyles, or visit the squares like Square des Peupliers or Montsouris. For the covered passages with more shops, you should go to the right bank: Passage des Panoramas, Galerie Vivienne, and Passage du Grand-Cerf are bright and charming places where it's so pleasant to stop for lunch, and even without money, it's great to visit too.

Free and/or permanent exhibitions

Without money, we can still educate ourselves because we are lucky enough to live in the City of Light, which is not lacking in museums. The Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris, the Carnavalet Museum, the Cernuschi Museum, the Petit Palais, the Maison de Victor Hugo, the Maison de Balzac, the Museum of Romantic Life, the Perfume Museum - these are just some of the museums that offer free exhibitions, whether they are permanent or not. It would be unthinkable not to take advantage of such access to culture!

Free Cruise on Your Birthday

It would be surprising to know how many Parisians don't know this! The famous Parisian cruises offer a guided cruise if the person can prove that it is their birthday, nice right? Furthermore, other very interesting offers are easily accessible on their website.

Free cinema classes at the Forum des Images

The Forum des Images offers this brilliant initiative: every Friday, a specialist, historian, or critic analyzes a film and gives a free cinema class. Of course, you have to remember to register because spots fill up quickly! A perfect activity for film lovers on a budget in search of intellectual nourishment.

Open-air Cinemas

Open-air cinemas leave no excuses for people who say it's too expensive to go to the movies, because there are screenings where you don't have to spend any money. Honestly, we've been reminding you about their existence all spring and with the arrival of summer: open-air cinemas have sprung up all over the capital: La Villette, the Louvre, Vincennes, the Moulin Rouge, or the rails of the Petite Ceinture, these are all places where we can share films on the big screen, with the breeze gently caressing our sun-kissed faces.

Stroll around Montmartre and visit the Sacré-Cœur Basilica

Take a leisurely walk up to the highest point of Montmartre and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the capital, it's worth it. Especially since there are sunny spots and shaded areas. You can sit on a bench to admire Paris or have a picnic. To cool off and be amazed, you can then visit the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, which is free to access every day without a reservation.
