Mian Guan, for noodles prepared right before your eyes
Clack, clack, clack. Do you hear that sound? It's the noodles, being prepared fresh right before our eyes, directly in front of us. We can see them, in the distance in the kitchen, stretching the elastic dough with a swinging motion from top to bottom causing the dough to clap against the work surface. All done with pure arm strength. If the little hole-in-the-wall doesn't look like much, watching them in action is impressive and quite enchanting. The happiness is complete when the noodles arrive in a big umami broth, comforting and delicious. Served in different thicknesses and with all sorts of sauces, they instantly warm up the taste buds. Huge love for the pan-fried marinated pork noodles, and the noodle soups all more flavorful than the next.

La Cantine Chinoise, for XXL noodles
The Chinese Canteen, or Wenzhou, has been delighting Chinese food enthusiasts for 20 years. On the menu: ultra-tasty dishes with the best of Chinese recipes. From wonton dumplings to meat and tofu stews, as well as the famous water spinach or jellyfish salad, you will quickly be tempted by other more original recipes such as Scallops Imperial or Soy Eel. A standout favorite is the Peking Duck and the XXL Chinese noodles, two dishes that could convince even the most hesitant and especially the most gluttonous given the size of the portions. You won't leave unscathed, but it's worth it.

Chez Alex, for melting eggplants
At Belleville, there are two teams: Wenzhou and Chez Alex. We love both for different reasons. Here, we are absolutely addicted to marinated eggplants with meat, meltingly delicious, and the chef's noodles - which can easily be shared given the astronomical amount on one plate. Not to mention the baos, steamed pork buns, for only 1.50€.

Drinks
At Les Folies, for drinks with friends
Les Folies is a super popular bar in the neighborhood, it's like the headquarters for meeting up with friends at any time of day. Don't be afraid to squeeze in, the terrace is often packed, but trust us, it's worth it. In the early evening, they offer a absolutely delicious mint tea for just a few euros, and when night falls, the red neon lights above the bar at this cozy bistro light up. Don't expect an extensive menu, here we drink cheap beer and cocktails, enjoy the background music and the great view of the street art on Rue Dénoyez, in short, we have an awesome time.

Relais de Belleville, to dance like it's the 90's
A true institution since 1900, still keeping its original charm, it's possibly the trendiest bar on the street. With its long terrace, it's a great spot for a reasonably priced drink with friends, and when night falls, the room transforms into a giant dance floor with a playlist that even the least musically inclined of your friends would tap their feet to.
