The Editor

Every time, it's the same old story. We make plans, we pick a spot halfway between our work and theirs, their evening and our apartment, their after-work drinks and our yoga class. And then it's blank, blackout. We rack our brains, "we remember", we bug out, we finally hang up with a "I'll check and get back to you". Yet every week, we spend hours soaking up news, good deals, scrolling through Le Bonbon, finding the latest must-see spots. But then, who knows why, every time we pick a random metro station, the same problem rears its ugly head. "WHERE ARE WE GOING?" Unless you're a die-hard Left Bank loyalist, you MUST go for drinks, food, a show, etc. on the side of the Rue Saint-Maur metro station! Its quaint alleys, flowery neighborhoods, and beloved local spots will intoxicate you... In theory, you are...But do you not know where to go for safe values? Look no further, this is the metro guide and it's around Rue Saint-Maur metro station. 1. WE HAVE A RELAXING TEA AT L'AUTRE THÉ A little zen and sunny break on a small terrace, we never say no to that. So welcome to L'Autre Thé tea salon, the paradise for tea lovers and other quality teas and infusions: organic, smoky, green, black... There is something for everyone and we can even accompany them with small pastries. Perfect.

2. BRUNCHING AT JUSTINE'S

Justine is friendly, she fills our hungry stomachs after a night out with good food and at a low price. 16 euros to feast on a hot drink, freshly squeezed fruit juice, classic Eggs Benedict or Florentine, and their delicious Caesar salad (my Sunday indulgence). We thank Antoine for this great suggestion that we can't get enough of.

3. WE DINE IN LOVE AT SERVAN

In love, because Servan is a restaurant that impresses. As for the menu, it's an explosion of flavors: wonton (fried Chinese dumplings), lacquered quail, cuttlefish, winkles, and more.veal rice...Same goes for the restaurant: warm bistro atmosphere, wooden tables, large windows... In short, the perfect place to impress.

4. WE HIDE AT THE THEATRE PASSAGE VERS LES ÉTOILES

We know, usually we don't really talk about small places like this in the tourist guides. But after or before enjoying a good meal, it's always nice to have a plan..bu, we love hiding in this little neighborhood theater at the end of a dead end. The main hall is super beautiful and the shows are always super quality. A must see!

A Japanese gem, Kyobashi: you can have classic sushi/maki/kebab but also (and above all!) specialties: Japanese omelette, tempura, tofu, seaweed... Simply delicious. 117, rue Saint-Maur - 11th
