After the Christmas festivities and the cheer of December, January is generally associated with bad weather (brrr!). It's also the time when we look back at all the expenses from the past month and the extra pounds we gained after a season of celebration and indulgence. Not to mention the tough challenge of Dry January and the difficult return to work after a vacation that always feels way too short.
For these reasons, January can sometimes feel like one really loooooooong month that's hard to see the end of. A sense of the blues peaks on the third Monday of January, bringing sadness and low motivation all around. So, to counter all of that, we invite you to check out our latest favorites from the capital, which are sure to bring you some joy.
Heartwarming new discoveries
Core and its amazing sandwiches
Opened last November, Core satisfies all our cravings, from breakfast to snack time. Accompanied by a chef and...two baristas, Jordan offers throughout the day tasty snacks and meals cleverly crafted with a chef who has worked in the kitchens of Pierre Gagnaire, and a nutritionist specialized in sports. From sandwiches to smoothies, including pastries and cold-pressed juices, each recipe is made with fresh, seasonal ingredients that are good for both the body and the mind. And the result is undeniable—it's absolutely heavenly!

The Osteria Degli Amici and its heavenly pizzas
Instead of booking a flight to Rome, let’s head to Rue Mandar. The Osteria Degli Amici opened its doors in September, and it’s the little slice of Italy we’ve all been waiting for. On the menu: fresh pasta rolled out in the morning, crispy pizzas, Mediterranean-scented antipasti, and well-crafted Spritz. The team welcomes you as if you’re visiting friends, with a friendly smile. With its furniture and dishes imported from Italy, you’ll come close to forgetting you’re still in Paris. It’s a delightful shot of dolce vita right in the heart of the 2nd, warming the soul.

Gourou and its delicious cheese naans
Head to Mumbai with Gourou, the new Indian restaurant in the 11th district that takes your taste buds on an adventure. A immersive spot where you can go from an Irani café to a traditional bazaar in the blink of an eye, where dishes are meant to be enjoyed with your hands and every detail evokes the founders' enlightening travels. Chef Adrien Bouchaud explores the vast range of regional Indian cuisines: from street food at the markets to the slow-cooked meals of homes. The menu reveals sometimes lesser-known specialties, going beyond the expected classics, for a generous, popular, authentic, and truly urban cuisine. But one thing's for sure: you won't want to miss out on a cheese naan!

La Patate and Its French Fry Cones
At La Patate, fries are the star of the show. It’s simple here - we indulge in freshly made fry cones (and that’s all it takes to make us happy). Fresh potatoes, vegetable oil, and unique sauces come together to create the coziest cone you can imagine, which we can jazz up with cheesy toppings (cheddar, parmesan, or comté) for even more deliciousness. In short, long live the fries!

The Cheese Experience and its XXL cheese tasting
If we had to sum up French cuisine in just one thing, cheese would definitely be a top choice. In all shapes, textures, and flavors… It’s a little wonder that has delighted many palates and now has its very own immersive spot in Paris. What’s on the agenda at this unique place? An immersive tasting experience through nine themed rooms, where we can learn more about our favorite cheeses. Throughout the visit, you’ll discover the origins, anecdotes, and production secrets of each of these creations.

And these spots that make us feel good, time and time again !
Like fish in water with Les Bulles à Flotter
Floatation center located just a stone's throw from Motte-Picquet Grenelle, Les Bulles à Flotter is one of the few places in Paris where you can truly disconnect from reality. In enormous bubbles filled with Epsom salt-saturated water, you can just float, a bit like in the Dead Sea, and let your mind take a break. It's a completely weightless experience that invites us to breathe and meditate. After the session, you can feel the benefits right away, both on our aching muscles and our overwhelmed minds.
