Discover the Belleville neighborhood in Paris
Babelville
"Welcome to Babelville," has been the wording around lately. Located at the bottom of Belleville, this new neighborhood full of color was born at the beginning of summer. The goal? To promote graphic art, playfulness, and above all, a positive vibe while immersing oneself in the history and socio-economic landscape of the neighborhood. Among the works and installations, you can find a beautiful hopscotch by Gonzague Lacombe, a street artist, or even the Babelville community canteen in collaboration with Coop Mijotée. But to see all of this with your own eyes, head to Jules Verne Square!

Exploring Street Art
We all know that Paris is becoming richer and richer in terms of street art, and Belleville is no exception. You surely must know rue Desnoyer, which has become the symbol of Parisian street art as it is entirely dedicated to it. We also recommend taking a little stroll around rue Ramponeau and rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud. Don't worry if the itinerary is not super precise, you will definitely find some beautiful things while wandering around the neighborhood.

Belleville Park
A classic in the neighborhood, Belleville Park is definitely THE spot to check out. Besides being super pleasant, it offers an exceptional view of the capital, a great alternative to the classic Buttes-Chaumont or Sacré-Cœur. In addition to being well-equipped (wooden huts for children, water jets, and waterfalls), the park has 140 feet of vine that each produce 2 to 3 kg of grapes. Even more reason to go take a look.

Leon Zygel Garden
The newest addition to the neighborhood, Leon Zygel Garden sprouted up in Belleville in July. Just a few steps away from Télégraphe metro station, this small garden offers a little green oasis for the locals. On the menu: 400m2 of lawn for sunbathing, a fountain, and a playground for children. The cherry on top? All the trees and plants come from the Ile-de-France region, isn't that beautiful.

Mian Guan
We already know that Belleville is the temple of Chinese cuisine. One day, we stumbled upon Mian Guan, a modest-looking restaurant that is packed with incredibly delicious Asian recipes. They serve absolutely amazing artisanal noodles, swimming in a wonderfully flavorful broth, of all thicknesses and in all sauces. Our huge favorite is the marinated pork noodles, stir-fried to perfection, but also the super comforting soups. You can go there with your eyes closed.

Wenzhou
Belleville is full of amazing Asian diners, and Wenzhou is one of them. Don't be fooled by the "tea lounge" sign on the front, here you can eat at any time, and eat well. You can taste delicious lightly sweetened Chinese buns or even stuffed with pork or vegetables. And what's even cooler is their price: €1.30 per piece, it's hard to beat that. An address to try urgently.

Northeast Ravioli
This is our all-time favorite ravioli spot. Here, you can find a huge and affordable menu, but most importantly, an incredible variety of ravioli: grilled, steamed, with cabbage, with shrimp, and even in soups or salads. On paper, everything seems pretty basic, but it's all made fresh and absolutely delicious. And guess what? For only €8, you can walk out with 10 generously filled ravioli, and for €10, they even come in a flavorful soup. The only downside is that the restaurant is tiny, so it's better to take them to go and enjoy them peacefully at home while watching a good movie.

Le Grand Bain
Get ready to take a Grand Bain of communicative energy: behind the facade of this establishment with a rather raw appearance, lurks a bistrot with an electrifying atmosphere but above all with a tempting menu. Here, we eat French cuisine with a foreign twist and a strong touch of French flair: Italian-style gratin dauphinois, plenty of pâtés en croute, meat pies... Rest assured, both vegetarians and meat lovers will find something to delight their taste buds. Watch out for your eardrums, because it gets loud.

SunTea Belleville
If you love bubble tea, you can't miss SunTea. Inspired by the most authentic recipes, they are prepared with ingredients straight from Taiwan (not the most eco-friendly, we admit). You choose the drink (fruit, milk, frappé, or galaxy), then the temperature of your bubble tea (yes, really), and finally the topping. More than just beverages, they are true desserts, at least, that's what we believe.

Aux Folies
The Folies is an extremely popular bar in the neighborhood, it's the go-to place to hang out with friends at any time of the day. Here, you shouldn't be afraid to elbow your way through, the terrace is often packed, but trust us, it's worth it. In the evening, they offer a absolutely delicious mint tea for a few euros, and when night falls, the red neon lights above the counter of this cozy bistro light up. Don't expect an amazing menu, here we drink cheap beer and cocktails, we enjoy the background music and the superb view of the graffiti, in short, we have a blast.

La Commune
Don't worry, there's no insurrection happening here. This cocktail bar welcomes you in a very warm and relaxed atmosphere. If you want to take a vacation for one evening, this is the place to be. Starting at €11 per person, you'll be treated to silver bowls filled with punch. We especially recommend the "Mate mon Métisse" with Jamaican pepper, Armagnac, and fresh coriander. Yes, it's bold, but it's really good.
