The grayness, the cold, and even a few snowflakes have fallen over the capital, and all we want to do is glide down slopes covered in powdery snow. But since skiing is far away and expensive, we've found a more budget-friendly alternative in terms of time and money: sledding runs that are just a hop, skip, and jump from Paris. So, where do we go sliding?


The Christmas Village of Fontainebleau

Just like every year for the holidays, the city of Fontainebleau invites us to a charming village. The program includes a Christmas market, a grand lantern parade, a little train, meet-and-greets with Santa Claus, and even a sledding track. In short, everything you need to feel like you're skiing for a little while. Even better, this little slice of winter paradise is directly accessible by Transilien from Paris.

Winter in Pantin

Okay, you’ll quickly notice that we’re breaking the ice right now. When it comes to Christmas villages near Paris, the events are often quite similar. In Pantin as well as in Fontainebleau, you can enjoy a market, games, shows, the presence of Santa Claus, and of course, a toboggan slide. But better than its predecessor, this village is even closer to the capital!

Christmas in Chelles

This time we're taking a little trip over to Chelles, where an exciting program awaits you throughout the month of December. Evenings, concerts, nighttime events, strolls, workshops, and especially a big sledding track open for the entire duration of the festivities. To get there, just take a quick ride on the P line from the Gare de l'Est, and in less than 40 minutes, you'll be there!

Val Brunoy
