While the Michelin-starred restaurants often catch our eye and tease our taste buds, indulging in such a feast feels regularly out of reach because it's too far from our modest budgets. But that's where we go wrong, as discovering exceptional dishes at a starred restaurant doesn't always mean a big bill! At Bonbon, we don't want to see you feeling frustrated, so here’s a selection of Parisian stars that you can enjoy without having to drain your savings account!
Automne, a gastro-bistro in the 11th
At Automne, it's Chef Nobuyuki Akishige working his magic in the kitchen. After climbing the ranks in various French establishments in Japan, Nobu (as he's fondly called) set sail for France at the age of 28. This was followed by a tour of great eateries across Europe, from Lyon to Vienna, stopping in Saint-Tropez, Courchevel, and then Paris. He then opened Automne, inspired by the first three letters of his name, Aki, which signifies the autumn season in Japanese, and earned a Michelin star.
In 2019. Here, he offers his French know-how influenced by the precision inherited from his Japanese roots. Golden sweetbreads with beetroot, raspberry, and pistachio; pan-seared foie gras with port, sweet potato, quince, and saffron; sole filet stuffed with oyster, cima di rapa, chanterelle, and broccoli coulis... The chef highlights good fresh and seasonal products, transforming them as little as possible to provide pure, sensitive cuisine that brings joy. What makes Automne one of the cheapest starred restaurants in Paris? Its lunch menu at €60 (Wednesday to Friday), which includes an appetizer, a starter, a choice of main course, a dessert, and mignardises. In the evening, you can expect to pay €98 for a 5-course discovery menu, and €135 for a 7-course menu.

TŌ, a Michelin-starred Franco-Japanese restaurant in Paris
In the heart of the 10th arrondissement, just a short stroll from the charming Canal Saint-Martin, you'll discover a delightful spot where French cuisine and Japanese notes come together harmoniously. The restaurant TŌ has dazzled our taste buds and won us over with its simple yet refined menus. While TŌ's cuisine prominently features Japanese flavors, that's primarily because its team is exclusively from this beautiful country, and even the owner speaks the language with the staff.
The chef Ryo Miyazaki, a regular at res...Starred restaurants add a subtle and creative touch to French know-how drawn straight from their origins. On the menu – which changes regularly – you'll find dishes that are both indulgent and gourmet, like a flank steak with chimichurri sauce and shiso, a marinated salmon carpaccio with wasabi sauce, or miso-marinated salmon with yuzu date puree; all at more than reasonable prices.

Nestled in the beautiful setting of the George V hotel under a 7-meter high glass roof, L'Orangerie is a true haven of peace in the heart of Paris. The talented chef David Bizet, as humble as he is imaginative, took the reins of this prestigious kitchen at just 38 years old after working alongside three Michelin-starred chefs, and he offers simply stunning contemporary cuisine. Smoked hen's egg with imperial caviar and watercress, Pigeon in a crust with turnip, truffle, and black olive, or Glazed sweetbreads with artichoke, scallion in soy, and tangy tannin: the lunch menu is simply divine.
To finish this festival of flavors...flavors, we delight in the desserts of the young Maxime Frédéric with astonishing precision and accuracy. Special mention for the incredible vacherin flower, meringue petals, raspberry with anise, white cheese dome. One rule to follow: go for it !

Penati al Baretto
What’s exceptional about this Italian starred restaurant is that it’s very affordable. The two-course menu is €39 (Starter/Main or Main/Dessert) or €55 with a glass of Chianti Riserva, a mineral water, and a coffee; the three-course menu is €45 or €65 with a glass of Chianti Riserva, a mineral water, and a coffee.
