There are many variations of udon dishes, from simple udon served in a dashi-based broth soup to stir-fried udon with vegetables and meats. They are often accompanied by toppings such as mushrooms, sautéed vegetables, eggs, beef or chicken meatballs... A delight.
Muto Donburi
Specialized in donburi, this cute little Japanese canteen on Blanche Street also offers incredibly delicious udon noodle bowls. The Kinoko Udon is a huge favorite, with shiitake, shimeji, and Paris mushrooms, and tofu for the vegetarians. The same goes for Tori Udon, but with chicken instead of tofu and a egg yolk. You'll find all the creamy happiness of carbonara spaghetti, but with a Japanese twist.

Mori Cafe
Forgive us because we are going to swear: Oh my goodness, it's so good! In this little eatery in the Bastille neighborhood that offers only a few typical Japanese dishes to enjoy while sitting on tatami mats, we happily slurp the absolutely delicious udon served in a thick and incredibly creamy curry broth. As toppings, green onions, crispy leeks, corn, and togarashi because we only have one life to be happy. Sometimes we even dream about it at night.

Kamakiri Hakata Udon
It's no wonder this restaurant is in the top 100 of the best udon noodles in the Michelin Guide Fukuoka! Here, you'll be served like in a real Japanese canteen. Whether hot or cold, all the udon noodles are delicious. We've been told to try the curry and pork noodles, with their fragrant broth, or the Zaru, cold udon noodles with homemade soy sauce.

Udon Bistro Kunitoraya
Don't be fooled by the surroundings when you arrive: you are indeed in a Japanese restaurant. Amidst the brick walls, old zinc, and subway tiles, you can enjoy delicious udon noodles, as well as donburi bowls that have already won over the entire neighborhood. Whether you prefer Katsu curry or shrimp & seaweed, believe us, you will be delighted. As for the cold dishes, we fell in love with the Zoo with its fried beignets and tofu. You'll thank us later.
