Since Bouillon Pigalle opened, you've been spending your evenings queuing in the rain for an hour just to taste their leeks vinaigrette or sausage and mashed potatoes? Guess what, so have we. Come on, let's take a tour of the best bouillons in Paris.
The bistro trend is raging in Paname! And the bouillons, ultra-popular restaurants dating back to the Belle Époque era of Paris, are resurfacing. On the menu, eggs mayo for less than 2€ and a continuous service that keeps buzzing... the brasserie, that is. Yet, we never get tired of it.
Bouillon Pigalle
We kick off this top with our personal favorite, Bouillon Pigalle, which opened its doors in 2017. In a modern brasserie setting, we come to eat an absolutely incredible pistou soup almost three times a week (at least), in a packed room that serves 1500 to 1800 covers per day. As an entrée, the leeks vinaigrette are to die for and, for eggs mayo fans, they're only 1.90€. Purists will recommend trying the bourguignon coquillettes (even though we stick with the pistou), and as for dessert, the pear with chocolate is worth the detour, trust us. And all this on the terrace on the 1st floor, at Place Pigalle, rain or shine. Finally, the pitcher of wine starts at 3.30€, and sThat's unbeatable. They even launched the takeaway service, a takeout offer for those who don't want to wait. Enjoy your meal!

< Bouillon République
In 2021, Bouillon Pigalle gave birth to Bouillon République, replacing the old Alsatian brewery Chez Jenny. Same menu and old-fashioned decor as the beloved place in Pigalle. We can enjoy cheap eggs mayo and leek vinaigrette, beef bourguignon or sausage-mashed potatoes, and a jug of wine for a dime. Whether dining in or taking out, no need to say more, you know the drill !

Bouillon Chartier
You probably know this one well because it's the bouillon, the real one, the original, the first of its kind. Open since 1896, a pioneer in its field, people still come here for the magnificent and typical Parisian brasserie decor, for the bustling atmosphere, and for the ultra-fast service. Wooden room, good French spirit, glass ceiling... Just so you know, people don't come here for the delicious food, the dishes are nice but nothing extraordinary. This is an address worth trying, nonetheless, just to relive a scene from La Passante du Sans-Souci with Romy Schneider, or to feel like you're in a Renoir painting.

Bouillon Julien
If it opened in 1902 under the name Gandon-Fournier, it later took the name Bouillon Julien in 1938. It then closed, only to reopen in 2018 after extensive renovations. Decorated tastefully in the Art Nouveau style, this bouillon is even classified as a historic monument! If you have the chance to be seated at table 24, know that you will be at the one where Édith Piaf used to wait for Marcel Cerdan, how classy. The motto? " Here, everything is beautiful, good, and cheap. " It's all said and done.

Bouillon Racine
Yet another bouillon, yes sir! And this one is located on the Left Bank, because there's something for everyone! It was opened in 1906 by the Chartier brothers, the ones who also brought us Bouillon Chartier (you guessed it), at a time when bouillons were already popular (and that was over a century ago). Here too, the style is Art Nouveau and, like Julien, the building is classified as a Historical Monument. That's how impressive the decor is! Well, you don't come here for the ambiance, but rather for the traditional dishes and affordable prices. You'll find classics such as onion soup, steak-frites, and crème brûlée. The service is quick and efficient, making it a great option for a casual meal in a historical setting. So don't miss out on Bouillon Racine when you're exploring the city!
For the food, not really amazing, especially since, unlike other broths, prices have significantly increased since the Belle Époque.

Le Petit Bouillon Pharamond
Nestled in a lovely three-story half-timbered building, Le Petit Bouillon Pharamond has everything you would expect from a good Parisian brasserie: delicious, homemade food at an affordable price, all in a charming Belle Époque decoration. Comfortable velvet banquettes, large mirrors, mosaics, gilding... it has it all. And let's not forget their superb terrace on the small square. We love their €1.90 mimosa eggs, sardine rillettes for €6.50, or the whole roasted sea bream for €12.90. And to top it off, a good glass of Côtes du Rhône for €4 and you're all set.
