Dar Mima
If you’re a fan of Jamel Debbouze, you’ll find him in the kitchen or almost at the heights of the Arab World Institute. The comedian opened Dar Mima at the beginning of 2023, a restaurant dedicated to his mother Fatima and her delightful Moroccan cooking. On the menu, an Eastern-inspired selection created by Jamel Debbouze and Laurent Gourcuff of Paris Society (known for Bambini, Bonnie, Perruche, and more). In a Mediterranean-themed decor, you can enjoy the mother’s secret recipes, from bread to Zaalouk salad, as well as pastries and the one-of-a-kind couscous. And several nights a week, it transforms into a lively spot featuring live music, guitars, and percussion. Enjoy your meal!

La Casbah
Located on Rue de la Forge-Royale, this chic mess with a Moroccan souk vibe has set up shop. Here, you can elbow your way in to share small plates or cozy up in one of the intimate mezzanine lounges, tucked away behind the moucharabieh, to share a few dishes. But Wednesdays mean couscous party! A unique menu featuring kemias, royal couscous, and mint tea, all accompanied by a piano jukebox. After that, head down a couple of steps to shake your groove thing with a guaranteed dance move on the dancefloor decked out with at least a thousand disco balls.

Le Zerda Café
Among the first North African restaurants to settle in Paris, Le Zerda Café is an essential spot for oriental couscous. Jaffar Achour and his son Aladdin (yes, that’s his name!) work together to ensure their customers have the best experience possible. One example? They carefully steam their semolina and then sift it to give it a light texture before drenching it in a broth made of 3 different meats to add the perfect flavor. A restaurant for the hungry and the foodies, but watch out for that post-meal snooze!
