Baijum, a restaurant specializing in malatang, offers a fun and flavorful experience, with totally customizable bowls. Here, there’s no fixed menu, you serve yourself! The principle is simple: you pick from over 80 ingredients...
Ultra-fresh ingredients : halal meats, fish and seafood, organic vegetables, tofu, noodles, fish balls, œggs… Then comes the broths, homemade and slow-cooked for 24 hours with six flavors available : tomato, chicken, fermented cabbage, beef, mushrooms, or three peppers. The hardest part? Making your choice. Once your bowl is all set, head over to the checkout for weighing : 3.19 € per 100 g, with a minimum of 300 g. To kick off the festivities, we pick a broth that catches our eye. Whether it's plain, spicy, tomato-infused, or satay, the flavors and colors are our guiding stars. Once our broth is heated, we’ll whip up the sauce of our dreams (spicy or not) and dive into whatever tickles our fancy: shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, tofu, shrimp, crab claws… We can also order some meats to grill on the big grill that dominates the table. It's the perfect setup for a delightful feast just a stone's throw from Place de la République!
