Restaurants where to eat paella in Paris

Craving for a generous paella but don't have the cash to take the first flight to Madrid or Barcelona? Don't panic: here are some of our good Parisian addresses that smell like the south, the Mediterranean, and the sun, to enjoy all kinds of tapas and indulge in Spain's most typical dish!

Les Caves Saint Gilles

In the Marais, this address takes us to Valence or right in the middle of the streets of Madrid. Les Caves Saint Gilles is the ultimate tapas bar, offering us a variety of plates to share with tortilla, chipirones, croquetas, pulpo a la gallega... And of course, the classic seafood paella and the paella negra with squid ink, typically Valencian and Catalan.

El Sol

This small Spanish counter takes you on a direct flight to the Iberian Peninsula! El Sol, a restaurant in the 8th arrondissement that is as family-friendly as it is intimate, celebrates the good products of Spain, from a bottle of wine to Iberico de Bellota ham, carefully selected by José Maria Gomez Vega. As for paella, it's clearly madness with homemade recipes to enjoy on site or to order in a giant version. With seafood, octopus, chicken, Iberian ribs, or any mix... There is something for everyone's taste. Vamós!

The Sun
22, rue de Ponthieu – 8th

The Blue Room

Nestled in the courtyard of Maison Delano, a former private mansion in the 8th district, The Blue Room showcases Mediterranean and Andalusian cuisine. The chef from Malaga, Dani Garcia, with three Michelin stars in Spain, creates mouthwatering Andalusian paellas using exceptional products. The menu offers a variety of dishes such as vegetarian options, cockerel, octopus, smoked eel, red mullet, beef ribs, or lobster. Guests can choose their happiness and enjoy these large dishes meant for sharing in a dreamy setting filled with nods to paintings from Picasso's blue period.

Montijo

At Montijo, we celebrate the art of living the Spanish way in the heart of Batignolles. A wine bar and eatery, blending tradition and modernity, with a great menu of tapas ranging from the classic Spanish tortilla to platters of 100% Bellota Iberico ham. The big bonus? On weekends, this neighborhood restaurant offers a Basque-style brunch and a giant paella (probably the largest in Paris) served every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4pm. In short, a soon-to-be journey to the Iberian Peninsula, with a lively atmosphere filled with music.

Montijo
167, rue de Rome – 17th

Chez Ramona

Chez Ramona is a true institution in Belleville. This address has been open for over 60 years, standing the test of time to quickly become the Spanish grocery store of the neighborhood, where you can indulge in delicious sunny dishes. Yes, the decor may be a bit kitschy, but people mainly come here to enjoy good local products and devour a generous paella in the super friendly and familial restaurant upstairs.

Le P'tit Barcelone

Let's take a lovely stroll through the Ramblas, the Gracia neighborhood, and Barceloneta, all without leaving Paris. Head to Le P'tit Barcelone for a total immersion in the Catalan capital. Here, you'll find the lively atmosphere of Barcelona with must-try croquetas, bravas, and tortillas, but especially with the delicious Paella de la Casa with chicken and seafood. Enjoy it all on the large terrace facing Folies Bergère to soak up the sun and feel like you're (almost) on the streets of Barcelona.

Abuela

You can also experience the authentic ambiance of a Spanish bodega and tapas like those found there. I'm talking about Abuela, the gourmet haven in the 18th that smells of sunshine. Whether it's noon or midnight, this place offers typical Hispanic recipes, with a modern Parisian twist. We go through all the delicious plates and of course, we can't miss the paella. After all, that's why we're here, right?

Grandma
10, Boulevard de Clichy - 18th

Open every day from 8am to 2am

At Derrick Catalan

Here is an address that we particularly love. Here, behind these medieval tavern airs, you will find Derrick Catalan, a truly rustic and authentic address that serves all kinds of Spanish specialties, including the traditional paella, as well as its equally delicious pasta-based variant, the fideuà. Wash it all down with a good homemade sangria: welcome to Catalan lands!
