The Editor

Craving for a restaurant by the water? Without having the sea in Paris, we have the Seine, the Canal Saint Martin, or the Canal de l'Ourcq. And on the quays, there are floating restaurants with delicious cuisine so you can have dinner or lunch (almost) with your feet in the water! Away from the hustle and bustle of Paris, there is a taste of tranquility and elsewhere. Let's take a tour of the waterfront restaurants for obvious reasons of the need for freshness.

Le Pavillon des Canaux: the most "dollhouse-like"

This life-size dollhouse will delight you with delicious treats and naps on the big armchairs and sofas. As soon as the sun comes out, we rush to the quiet terrace. An important bonus is the very affordable prices for drinks. Therefore, you can stay there for several hours enjoying the pleasant surroundings.Only a good juice and no one will kick you out.

Le Paname Brewing Company : the most street

This beer bar by the water is the perfect hideout for the summer! You order your brew and dish at the counter and go sit on the floating terrace on the Ourcq canal. There's a long bar, large tables, and a big glass enclosure where you can enjoy a variety of dishes - BBQ pork ribs, homemade burgers, or even unique pizzas (duck with hoisin sauce; Moroccan lamb, chickpeas, and yogurt) or a small Halloumi salad. Bring out the sunscreen!

The Parisian Bistro: the most exceptional

Located at the Port de la Bourdonnais, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower on a barge, The Parisian Bistro is an exceptional place to relax for a brunch with friends or family. The brunch includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, a 38 sqm glass roof, a floating terrace on the water, and an incredible view... And the icing on the cake: before or after your brunch, treat yourself to a Sightseeing Cruise.

The Batofar: the most festive

Le Wagon is the Batofar's night restaurant that delights your taste buds from aperitif time until the middle of the night. La Nouvelle Seine: the most bucolic

At La Nouvelle Seine, you can enjoy a friendly, contemporary, delicious and precise cuisine. The precision of cooking and the respect for the product are the priorities. The cuisine changes with the seasons and is not afraid to be influenced by both Mediterranean (Pluma Ibérica, Linguine with Cockles) and Asian (Bangkok Return Gambas) flavors. You can also taste plates of Basque charcuterie or cheese boards, PDO, refined and accompanied by natural wines.

Le Faust : le plus royal

Faust is a brasserie in the great Parisian tradition, located under the Alexandre III bridge. Formerly a naval warehouse of the Royal Guard, with recently restored internal structures, this place now houses a restaurant led by Romain Solbes trained at Matignon. On sunny days, enjoy the immense terrace and the royal view of the bridge.

Le Café Barge and its beach: the most danceable

Facing the Cité de la Mode et du Design, the barge of Café Barge welcomes you to have a bite in a neo-pop atmosphere, with fuchsia and glitter. My personal favorite is the beach on the quay next to it. Until the end of September, we dance and drink while enjoying electro and house music, and snacking on a barbecue-cooked merguez.

The Chalet des Iles: the most rustic

This is where the trendy young people from western Paris meet on Thursdays for an aperitif, but you can also accompany this rosé (champagne?) with good little bites to eat, either alone or to share. So charming that you can access the place by boat!

Rosa Bonheur: the most relaxed

How can you get more laid-back than Rosa in the West, with its wood-fired pizzas and its friendly tapas to be enjoyed at tables or on sun loungers between games of pétanque or mini-tennis? Difficult, isn't it? In addition to this guinguette where you sway to the rhythm of DJ sets on the Port Bas in Asnières-sur-Seine, Rosa Bonheur takes root at the Port des Invalides, which offers you equally festive and relaxing evenings.

A bar-restaurant located on a barge offers oysters from Brittany, whelks, charcuterie from Maison Dubernet, smoked fish from Ile d'Yeu, and flatbreads.creamy burrata accompanied by refreshing cocktails, rosés, and affordable draft beers. Add to that a generous dose of beautiful landscapes (with a view of the Saint Louis island) and a skilful mix of DJ sets, and you'll have a clear idea of what awaits you at Les Maquereaux. Le Grand Bleu: the most gourmet

In the heart of the Arsenal basin, this restaurant offers a refined menu, just like its prime location. Prawns, lobster carpaccio, risotto, sole, dorade ceviche; the choice of dishes promises to be rich. We wish you good luck and bon appétit!

La Javelle : the chillest place

This ephemeral guinguette in the 15th arrondissement, anchored at Port Javel, offers a wide range of exotic and colorful dishes that vary depending on the day of the week. Until June 10th, you can indulge in Afro-European dishes on Thursdays, grilled cheese on Fridays, Egyptian-Japanese fusion on Saturdays, Latin-American cuisine on Saturdays, and Lebanese food on Sundays. A delightful dance for your taste buds awaits.

The Extravagance on the Seine: the most magical

The restaurant La Démesure, located in the 9th arrondissement, thinks big with the inauguration of its terrace by the Seine, which is likely to attract a wave of new followers. It stands out from its river counterparts by offering a organic food court (a dining area with multiple food stands). Fish tartare, grilled dishes, vegetarian options, you will surely find something to please your palate with this concept that goes all out.

Les Pieds dans l’Eau : le plus iléen

In the midst of the Île de la Jatte lies this superb restaurant with an exceptional setting. Many spaces (which can be privatized) are available, especially around a sublime hundred-year-old weeping willow, but today we will talk about the bucolic and shaded wooden terrace just above the Seine, which offers a true moment out of time. Here, you can taste reinvented French cuisine, with a special mention to the refreshing gazpacho and avocado-crayfish tartare. A restaurant by the water, under the trees, away from the hustle and bustle of Paris.

Mademoiselle Mouche: the most 8th

Mademoiselle Mouche is the very successful creation of Compagnie des Bateaux Mouche: initially ephemeral, it has become so well-known that it is now here, at the foot of the Alma bridge, to stay. Its tropical terrace facing the immensity of the Eiffel Tower is everyone's favorite place to spend their summer. There are two menus, two atmospheres: the rooftop and the restaurant. So if you eventually want a real dinner, just go downstairs. A great spot by the water, which allows you to get some fresh air and cool off.

The New Chalet du Lac: the coolest one

This superb place at the edge of the Bois de Vincennes offers a cool, very cool atmosphere: deck chairs, wooded atmosphere, sand on the ground, all by the water. Colorful buffets are offered, rather Italian-inspired, perfect for summer. Special mention to the ribs and crispy tuna which complement the ultra pleasant experience at the New Chalet du Lac.

La Plage Parisienne: the most typical Parisian

La Plage Parisienne is the best waterside spot in the 15th. This restaurant embodies all of Parisian chic: the green of the terrace is reminiscent of the chairs in the Luxembourg Gardens, the ribbon-cushions and striped awnings, the waiters in black suits - white shirts - bow ties... The cuisine does not disappoint: delicious and ultra fresh dishes are served with a beautiful view of the Seine, such as the seared citrus tuna. A very lovely waterside table, for a business meeting or a romantic lunch.

La Balle au Bond: the most relaxing

People come here for a long brunch with friends when they need to brighten up their day, because it's delicious: you can have a Louise Abbema plate with smoked bacon, grilled sausage, creamy scrambled eggs with chives, salad of the day, and new potatoes. There are also vegetarian options like chachouka with grilled halloumi. The staff is attentive, responsive, and friendly, which is good to know if you want to privatize the place. The restaurant is on a barge, so it's hard to get closer to the water, and the setting is very pleasant, right at the foot of the Pont des Arts.
