We've all turned down a restaurant because of those rather... delicate end-of-the-month finances. And for students, the bank account doesn't just frown at the end of the month, but often more frequently. So to treat yourselves, we've whipped up a list of great gems where you can eat for under €12 (and sometimes much less). 


So Nat

In this little veggie cafeteria, you'll find three recipes for hearty bowls that change with each season. Inside, there's a bunch of thoughtfully prepared and perfectly seasoned creations. For just 10€, the "Forest Squash" bowl (for example) includes herbed bulgur, coral lentil parippu, tamarind-roasted beetroot, sweet potato fritters made with buckwheat, roasted fennel with peanuts and mild chili, mango mayonnaise, coriander, and kasha.

Best Tofu

All my veggie friends, this one is for you: at Best Tofu, the supreme little eatery in Belleville, you can treat yourself without breaking the bank. Enjoy tofu, marinated eggs, plain brioches, or sesame donuts for the modest price of €1. And for under €2, indulge in a sticky rice cake, a pork-filled brioche, or a veggie cake. Prices that are truly a blast from the past will make this place your official lunchtime favorite!

Chubby Ramen

It’s the new express HQ for lovers of Japanese specialties in Paris. Opened at the end of 2025, Chubby Ramen offers, as the name suggests, hot and generous ramen. The good news? Everything is at a (very) sweet price! The Chub Essential menu, featuring a ramen of your choice (veggie, pork, or chicken), a side, and a drink is just 9.90€. It’s the perfect way to treat yourself without breaking the bank. And for those who aren’t big fans of broth, three donburi recipes are also on the menu for just 8.80€.

Bob’s Bake Shop

Get ready, because Bob is here to treat you! With his 18th-century counter and his bagel shop in the 10th, you'll be filled with freshness and sweetness for lunch (without hurting your wallet). What's on the menu? A Bob bowl with roasted vegetables, hummus, avocado, and brown rice, along with a variety of homemade bagel recipes, ranging from €5 to €13.

Mian Guan

The best of the best, in our opinion. Homemade noodles stretched right before your eyes, a rich broth, and a generous portion of soy-marinated pork: Mian Guan has everyone in agreement. With a canteen vibe and super affordable prices, you can eat quickly, well, and without any fuss. As a bonus, their simple sautéed noodles with vegetables are to die for, and the portions are incredibly generous. Perfect for a filling lunch break or a dinner that sends you straight to bed, all without ever exceeding €10!

Le Bichat

To create its organic bowls, Le Bichat sources ingredients from the local market (squash, tomatoes, and flours from producers in Seine-et-Marne, bananas, oranges, and lemons imported), along with organic wholesalers from Rungis. Fresh, delicious, and healthy… With affordable prices at lunch, including the vegan bowl of the day for just €12.50!

Fenouil

Another cozy canteen to fill up on greens! Fenouil delights you on Rue Poissonnière with a formula that everyone agrees on: two dishes for €12. The menu changes every week and offers deliciously crafted plates. Chicken meatballs in mustard sauce, seasonal roasted vegetables, sweet potatoes stuffed with lentils and topped with cheddar, eggs with praline hazelnut mayo... All that's left for you to do is indulge!

Ground Control

For over ten years, Ground Control, a cultural, social, and festive hot spot in the 12th, has been delighting Parisians on its terrace or in its Halle à Manger. You'll find several stands celebrating the diversity of cuisines from around the world, all brought to life by dedicated and passionate chefs. And all of this comes at very attractive prices! On the menu: Indian cuisine from Burning Naan, solidarity plates from La Résidence, Greek specialties from Kalimera, Franco-Taiwanese dishes from Coin Op Table, and pizzas from Fermento. The hardest part is making a choice!

Bang 

Opened less than a year ago, Bang has taken the Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière by storm with its extraordinary sandwiches. The menu, featuring five recipes inspired by cuisines from around the world, makes our mouths water at first glance: from the Shizen with crispy panko eggplant to the Tiger Tiger with prawns and salsa verde, not to mention the Devdas with marinated chicken and green curry, we can't help but agree. The cherry on top? The place also offers daily specials (chicken mafé, Japanese curry...) for just €11!

Lakshmi Bhavan

Small Indian restaurant tucked away in the 9th, where we are greeted every noon by an adorable couple who manage the kitchen and dining room. It's delicious, but most importantly, we get a lunch menu competition at €9.90, with a choice of small vegetables cooked in sauce, chicken tikka, or the classic butter chicken, served with a small salad and a plain or cheese naan.
