If a few days ago we announced the opening of a large gourmet and festive hall in Saint-Ouen by 2022, there will be plenty to satisfy your cravings in the near future. From the end of March, the residents of the 12th arrondissement will welcome Douze Paris, a large market hall that brings together ten regional artisans in a former barracks in Reuilly-Diderot spanning nearly 1,000m2. The project, funded through crowdfunding, is led by Jean Prévost, former innovation director at Casino, and Suzanne Grimal, a businesswoman who notably organized the Reuilly Christmas market in 2019.
Ten artisans, a restaurant, and two extra-large terraces
In this new gourmet hall, you'll find the fruits from the primeur shop Les Fruits de la Terre in Lille, you'll stop by for some aged cheese from Jean-François Dubois in Arras, and you'll choose your fish from Mareyage Hennequin in Les Sables-d'Olonne.
Far more pleasant than your corner supermarket, the hall will offer a variety of tastes and experiences, making it a must-visit spot for food enthusiasts in the 12th arrondissement.
lank">Douze Paris will also welcome the Mas des Confitures from Béziers, the coffee roasters from Café Gonéo in Lyon, and the wine cellar of Johannes Marcon from Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid in Haute-Loire. Meat lovers will rejoice at the presence of the delicatessen Christophe Fabre, who owns Charcuterie du Viala, and the farmer Arnaud Billon, behind Ah la vache located in Perche. And because going to the market without snacking is considered heresy, we recharge our batteries at the Thai caterer Oth Sombath before starting on our baguette from the bakery Leonie, originating from the 17th arrondissement. When establishments receiving the public are allowed to reopen, we will sit down at the restaurant of Pablo Jacob at Bel Ordinaire in the 5th arrondissement, who now works at the Refugee Food Festival. This new intimate address - with 50 seats - will offer recipes made with products from the artisans on the lower floor, to be enjoyed inside with a view of the kitchens or on the terrace overlooking the garden. Two large terraces will also open their doors as the nice weather approaches.
If you want to discover the behind-the-scenes of the project's progress, we invite you to take a look at some snapshots on their Instagram account while waiting for the official opening at the end of the month.
