Bønne

Created by Serdar and Malin, a dynamic Turkish-Norwegian duo, Bønne is the new kafeteria in the 18th that everyone's talking about. A cozy spot tucked away on Labat Street, it offers a meticulously crafted beverage menu and, above all, Norwegian pastries that are to die for. On the menu? The famous kardemombolles (sweet cardamom buns) or kannelbolles (cinnamon rolls), as well as a stunning cheesecake with brunost (Norwegian cheese) and blueberries that is simply heavenly... In short, it’s Oslo in Paris.

Bobkar

Cozy as can be, the Bobkar café-bookstore has been charming the Belleville neighborhood for a few years now. Its creators, Isabel and Natalie, two Parisians by choice – who, fun fact, met at the Swedish Institute – bring together in this lovely spot Nordic authors’ books and homemade Scandinavian treats. Amidst the books from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and even Iceland, you can sip on a coffee and indulge in all sorts of rolled pastries, including the classic cinnamon roll and the more unique saffron version.

Fika

A little taste of Sweden in the heart of Paris. Nestled in the heart of the Swedish Institute, right in the middle of the Marais, Fika is the hidden café where life is lovely all year round. What to expect? A warm welcome, a cozy interior, and a garden terrace to enjoy sunny days while snacking under the sun. On the food side, you can savor specialties like fresh fish open sandwiches or the classic meatballs with mashed potatoes. And of course, pastries are also part of the fun with hazelnut-orange, cinnamon, or cardamom rolls, and semlas, those brioche buns filled with almond paste and cream.

Café Maa

On the Left Bank, it’s the Finnish Institute that welcomes us to its Café Maa, THE place in Paris to discover Finnish cuisine and culture. This café-restaurant creates a strong and humble connection with nature – its name, Maa, actually means "the earth" in Finnish – featuring fresh, local, and seasonal products. You can enjoy Reissumies (rye toast with toppings) or the delicious Lohikeitto (available only on Fridays), a traditional soup made with fresh salmon. For something sweet, you’ll definitely want to try the brioche, alongside suklaakakku (chocolate cake) and piirakkapala (crumbly cake with lingonberries).

Affären

In the 17th, just a stone’s throw from Scenska Krykan, you can discover Affären, a Swedish café and fine grocery. Run by Agneta, it offers lovely decorative items and a variety of traditional products, such as herring marinated with onions, cloudberry jam, and Swedish beers. Plus, there are homemade pastries that smell wonderfully of cinnamon, cardamom, and blueberries, perfect to enjoy with a coffee or a cup of tea!
