Asian Wok

Craving a flavor-packed, colorful snack? Head over to Asian Wok, the must-visit spot in Oberkampf for a delicious Asian culinary journey with tapas, wok dishes, homemade curries, and giant cocktails. Everything here is crispy, melts in your mouth, and each bite transports you from Bangkok to Phnom Penh. And trust us, you’ll feel right at home! For tapas, get ready for a avalanche of flavors! To kick things off, don’t hesitate to dive into the Ha Kao, these little steamed shrimp dumplings, the delightfully tender Vietnamese Bánh Cuốn, or the Korean caramelized chicken croquettes, a truly sweet-and-savory treat. Need something fresh? The spring rolls come to the rescue, light and fragrant. When hunger strikes seriously, it's time for the signature dishes. Homemade red and green curries will transport you straight to Thailand. The marinaded beef "Crying Tiger," with its intense and spicy Thai marinade, is a true explosion of flavors. And of course, the timeless Pad Thai, always irresistible in its smoky wok. On the vegetarian side, the options are far from sad with light yet super delicious dishes, featuring many alternatives like this wok of caramelized eggplant with Thai spices.

The Golden Lily

Both traditional and creative, the cuisine at the Golden Lily delights the taste buds of Parisians with Asian flavors for nearly 30 years. A mark of quality, given the ongoing success today! In a truly enchanting atmosphere, where lush vegetation blends with tranquility, you can savor Asian specialties with recipes that will charm even the most skeptical. Proof of this is Shimin Chen, the mastermind behind these dishes, who has won several prestigious cooking competitions in China.

Mian Guan

The best of the best, in our opinion. Homemade noodles stretched right before your eyes, a rich and flavorful broth with a generous dose of marinated pork in soy sauce: Mian Guan has something for everyone. It has a canteen vibe and super affordable prices; here you eat quickly, well, and without fuss. As a bonus, their simple fried noodles with vegetables are amazing, and the portions are ultra generous. Perfect for a filling lunch break or a dinner that sends you straight to bed!

At Alex Wenzhou

Alex serves up plates that smell delightful with the street food of Wenzhou. The bao, jiaozi (homemade dumplings), and meat-stuffed eggplants are some of the best in the neighborhood. A little bonus: the portions are generous and the service is always cheerful. You’ll also want to come back for the crispy stir-fried dishes and homemade sauces that elevate every bite. A sure thing!

Address: 24 Rue de Belleville, 75020 Paris, France

Le Grand Bol

Here, there’s no question of bland stir-fried noodles that you’ve tried a thousand times in a typical Chinese buffet. They serve up more refined specialties like the "precious pagoda pork" and the "bridge-crossing rice noodles" from Yunnan. It’s a delightful culinary journey at a great price! Their roast duck is also a must-try, with its crispy skin and juicy meat. A special mention goes to their spicy dishes that really warm up the taste buds!

Aux Mandarins de Belleville

A charming old-fashioned restaurant where you come for the lacquered duck worthy of the finest tables in Beijing, Chinese fondues, and to-die-for homemade dim sum. If you're looking to feast with all your friends and sample a variety of delicious Mandarin dishes, this is the place to book. We love: their dried green beans, buttery eggplants, crab fried rice, and also the spicy shrimp.

Imperial Raviolis

As its name suggests, this place makes ravioli, and they do it well. Steamed or grilled, with meat or vegetables, it’s pure happiness in a bite. The dumpling soup and mushroom salad are also gems. Foodies can indulge in their sautéed eggplant and sesame noodles, a perfect combo for an ultra tasty meal in a super cozy atmosphere always at hand!

Address: 15 Rue Louis Bonnet, 75011 Paris, France

Hotpot Noodles

Hotpot Noodles is the exciting new spot in the neighborhood that’s definitely worth a visit, with its spicy specialties straight from Chongqing. Here, you can slurp up bowls of piping hot and flavorful noodle soup, with a special mention for the rib-eye and spicy pork dumplings that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Vegetarians won’t be left out either, as there’s a well-thought-out hot pot version just for them. It’s a place that will make you sweat with joy!

Lao Lane Xang 2

A grand classic of the 13th arrondissement, Lao Lane Xang 2 is a crowd favorite. Be careful, don’t be fooled by its trendier decor compared to nearby places – the prices stay the same, which certainly explains the long line outside the restaurant every evening. When it comes to food, Lao Lane Xang 2 really raises the bar: you’ll find typical dishes from Laos, Vietnam, and even Thailand. For dessert, we recommend their specialty: sticky rice with fresh mango and coconut milk, a real treat!

Shang Palace

The restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel, Shang Palace, isn't quite your typical Asian restaurant. And why is that? Its chef, Frank Xu, has earned a Michelin star! So yes, it's true that the budget is a bit higher than what you'd find in the 13th arrondissement, but if you're looking to treat yourself, this is the perfect spot! Traditional herbal soups, stir-fried vegetables, or dim sum—you'll also want to try their fish dishes, like the sautéed turbot fillet. It's a great place for a lovely date night.

Address: 10 Av. d'Iéna, 75116 Paris, France

Tricotin

Another gem in the neighborhood, Tricotin is THE local canteen. And as if one restaurant wasn't enough, there's a second one just across the street, simply named "Tricotin 2". It's a fantastic spot if you're looking for a budget-friendly restaurant to take the whole family, as there are plenty of large tables. On the menu, you'll find the classics like Bo Bun, Phở, and imperial rolls. A wallet-friendly eatery you should definitely try at least once.

Address: 15 Av. de Choisy, 75013 Paris, France

Thaï Yim 2

Tucked away in the 13th arrondissement, Thaï Yim 2 is a little gem of Thai cuisine. You can't miss it when you see the number of Thai people per square meter! On the menu, you’ll find classic dishes like the "crying tiger" (a spicy marinated beef dish). Once again, the prices are very reasonable, with a lunch menu under €15.

Pho Tai

Super good plan alert! This little restaurant hidden in a quiet street of the Chinese district is a gem. If you’re looking for a really great, typical, and affordable Vietnamese restaurant, we highly recommend checking out Pho Tai. Their generous Bo Bun is divine, and the service is impeccable. Try to come early because the space is small and there are lots of customers. And for latecomers, the restaurant "Pho Tai Tai" is right across the street at number 18, run by the owner's sister. You'll find the same menu, but especially the same prices.

One Day in Hanoi

In just a few years, this restaurant on Rue Daguerre has become the trendy spot in the 14th arrondissement. And for good reason, it's almost impossible to come here to eat without a reservation. This success, One Day in Hanoi, is surely due to its authentic ingredients straight out of our grandmothers' recipe books. We recommend the typical Com Niêu (a sizzling pot where pork in caramel continues to cook mixed with coconut milk and a stewed egg). If you're not convinced yet, know that a complete meal will cost you no more than €15.

Address: 46 Rue Daguerre, 75014 Paris, France

Delight of Condorcet

Here’s one of those secrets we’d love to keep to ourselves, but it’s impossible not to share the incredible experience that is Delight of Condorcet, this little Chinese gem that you just don’t find anymore. They serve us absolutely divine noodles in all the colors of the rainbow, paired with little veggies, and a mountain of pastel-colored rainbow dumplings so cute that you almost hesitate to take a bite. The dumpling dough is fine and delicate, and the fillings (pork, beef, shrimp, or vegetarian) are exquisite. Our taste buds are in disbelief at how delightful the flavors are.

Address: 10 Rue Condorcet, 75009 Paris, France

Chez Ann

The mood is set right from the entrance: a lush garden and big smiles, as sisters Annie and Anning welcome you to their zen oasis in the vibrant 10th district. Everything here is designed to make you feel good, from fresh dim sum to cups of tea, along with lovely music and cozy furniture.

Address: 29 Rue de l'Échiquier, 75010 Paris, France

At TaoKan

The legend says that TaoKan was one of the first Chinese restaurants in Paris. It hasn't lost its charm and still holds its place in lists like this one. On the menu, you'll find tasty classics with that little extra touch!

888 NIGHTMARKET | 一村夜话

Located just a stone's throw from Beaubourg, 888 NIGHTMARKET takes you on an immersive experience right in the heart of Chinese night markets. On the menu: a mix of street food and restaurant dishes with an amazing quality-price ratio. We're in love with the tender eggplants, the family-recipe grilled dumplings, and especially the Korean fried chicken with its sweet and spicy sauce, but above all the juicy lamb skewers with secret spices, a true emblem of Chinese night markets. This is an authentic and delicious spot that we adore for an immersion in China that feels just like being there!

Kapunka

If Kapunka means "thank you" in Thai, it's not by chance. It's the first word that comes to mind when you leave these lovely restaurants with a trendy decor. On the menu, there are classics of Thai cuisine that are divinely executed: mikati (a dish made with noodles, peanuts, and coconut), satay skewers, or delicious spring rolls. A sure bet for a quick bite with a Thai beer in hand! Good news: Kapunka now has 4 restaurants in Paris, all gluten-free, with a 100% vegan option in the 2nd arrondissement.
