The Ambition of Painting at the Orangerie Museum

We often tend to summarize Henri Rousseau and his work by the mystical figure of the « Douanier ». However, there is so much more to discover, and it is this richness that the Orangerie Museum aims to highlight in a unique retrospective, bringing together canvases primarily sourced from the collections of Paul Guillaume, a passionate admirer and defender of the painter. This is a unique opportunity to dive into the work of an artist who continues to leave a mark on the history of art more than 115 years after his death.
