Modernity Revealed at the MEP

Starting from the 1920s, Edward Weston, an iconic figure in American and global photography, leaves behind a pictorialist style (inspired by painting codes) to turn towards modernity. Through more refined, simplified images, he enhances his style by simplifying his framing, eliminating artifices, and focusing on lines, shapes, and light. The result is a collection of powerful, poetic images, with over a hundred to be presented this autumn by the MEP.g>MEP. It's a wonderful opportunity to explore some never-before-seen photographs of the artist, as well as to compare his work with that of his contemporaries, thanks to major pieces of pictorialism showcased in dialogue.
