One might think that in the summer, theaters and performance halls are empty. True, many of them reduce their programming for a brief summer break before kicking off the fall season in style. But Paris wouldn’t be Paris without its curtain rises, so here’s a selection of 10 shows that will be on stage all summer long.


Big Mother at the Théâtre des Béliers Parisiens 

The play by Mélodie Mourey, nominated five times at the Molières in 2023, continues to captivate the capital this summer! We're plunged into the heart of a political-journalistic thriller that is as disorienting as it is exhilarating. In the United States, a scandal involving the President has just erupted, causing quite a stir at the newsroom of the media New York Investigation. Meanwhile, journalist Julia Robinson believes she has spotted her deceased partner from years ago sitting on a courtroom bench. Two mysteries intersect, confronting journalists with a mass manipulation agenda. A brilliantly executed show that calls for reflection as much as it invites thunderous applause.

DNA at the Théâtre Michel 

One fine day, after a test DNA, Tomas realizes that he is not the father of his baby, but… his uncle. The only small problem is that the young dad doesn't have a brother. As he decides to go see his mother for answers, he finds her dead, murdered. Thus begins a breathless chase to uncover the truth of this story and trace the threads of traditions and family heritage. Through this disheartened and lost father, the play challenges us with universal themes, such as transmission, whether voluntary or not, traumas, and the quest of identity.

Theater of the Renaissance

Once again, Alexis Michalik enchants the crowds and attracts an ever-growing loyal audience. With Passport, he invites us to discover the fascinating story of Issa, an Eritrean refugee who wakes up one day in The Jungle, the vast migrant camp in Calais, with no memory of his past. Amidst individuals from all walks of life who each bring their joy, kindness, anger, or vulnerability, the young man struggles as best as he can to move forward in life, inventing or rebuilding along the way. A necessary and strikingly human play!

The Star Merchants at Théâtre Le Splendid  

Blending emotions with a hint of humor, the play takes us back to 1942 in Raymond Martineau's fabric warehouse. With his wife, daughter, and two employees, they conduct an inventory of the shop. Theoretically, everything is fine, except that Paris is occupied. This play delivers a moving story right in the heart of the Great War, for which actor Guillaume Bouchède received the Molière 2025 award for best actor in private theater.

When Madame C, a Scottish aristocrat, unexpectedly encounters a desperate gambler at the Monte-Carlo Casino, she is profoundly moved. Everything about this man fascinates her. In trying to save him, she quickly becomes consumed by an overwhelming passion. Just 24 hours, but they will leave a lasting mark on her life.

The Mystery of Mozart, at the Collège des Bernardins
