This weekend, the European Heritage Days (EHD) are back in the capital for their 43rd edition. While most of the city's museums are offering free admission for the occasion — at least for their permanent collections — some are going even further with original activities. We've picked out our 5 must-see recommendations to make the most of these two special days.
The Paris Mint
The Paris Mint is offering a packed program of activities for EHD 2026. On one hand, you'll be able to meet the craftspeople currently working to preserve 250 years of heritage by renovating the building's façade. You'll be able to
also enjoy 30-minute themed visits focusing on architecture or the secrets of the institution, for example. These two days will also be a chance to take part in a great treasure hunt, or discover the expertise behind coin and medal manufacturing. The Bourdelle Museum
Just a stone's throw from Montparnasse Station, the Bourdelle Museum invites you to get your hands dirty… literally! Throughout the weekend, workshops suited to all ages will be offered in connection with the permanent collections and the temporary exhibition dedicated to Anthony Guerrée, where you can learn to work with clay, as well as create miniature screens or tea light holders by playing with colors, transparency, and drawing. Sunday afternoon, the triostrings and flute Les Folies du temps will pay tribute to the genius of Beethoven, for whom Antoine Bourdelle held a deep admiration.

The Sewer Museum
It’s already one of the capital’s most original museums in normal times. The Louvre
&For the European Heritage Days, the world's most famous museum invites you to discover what goes on behind the scenes by stepping into areas normally closed to the public. On the program: guided tours of the museum's art workshops, the consultation room for graphic arts in the Drawings Cabinet, and the Mollien pavilion. A chance to meet the craftspeople who work every day to uphold the reputation of this unique place, in fields as varied as framing and gilding, stone masonry, metalwork, cabinetmaking, the mounting of drawings and art objects, and artwork installation. Guided tours of the Tuileries Garden are also offered throughout the weekend.
