The Editor

2026-2027 marks an important turning point in the history of photography: we celebrate the bicentennial of its existence, as Nicéphore Niépce developed this artistic method between 1826 and 1827. This is a great opportunity to explore fabulous photographic exhibitions currently underway in Parisian museums.

Martin Parr -
Global Warning, Jeu de Paume

In Martin Parr's photographs, you'll find beaches, ski resorts, even the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Gorgeous places, paradisiacal for some, that only serve as a backdrop for a less enchanting reality. Throughout his career, the photographer has focused on highlighting the decay of a society that has been struggling for the last fifty years.s, by mass consumption, over-tourism, and the desire for " more and more," we’re leaving the planet in a state of "less and less." With the exhibition Global Warning, open until May 24, 2026, the museum at Place de la Concorde makes a powerful statement: you come out with colors in your eyes, yes, but especially puzzled by this insight into the destruction and absurdity that humans are capable of.

Kourtney Roy,
All Inclusive, at the City of Economics

Without a doubt, the work of Kourtney Roy can be compared to that of Martin Parr. Like him, the Canadian photographer has focused on capturing global tourism in all its facets. Luxury hotels, pristine beaches… Through about thirty snapshots, she highlights an idealized tourism to better reveal its contrasts. Behind vibrant imagesAnd almost idyllic, there are much duller realities lurking at the crossroads of social inequalities, environmental destruction, and marketing arguments.
