Cesária Évora is undoubtedly the most famous singer from Cape Verde. Since her sudden passing in 2011, many artists continue to keep her memory alive, invoking her melancholic melodies that have enchanted audiences. With the Cesária Évora Orchestra (founded in 2014), the repertoire of the one affectionately known as the barefoot Diva continues to thrive around the world, featuring anthems like “Petit Pays” and “Sodade”. Currently on tour in North America, the group will perform in France at La Marbrerie on June 4th, promising an unforgettable tribute evening to the great Cesária Évora, as well as a celebration of Cape Verdean culture.
