For the small, the tall, the heavy, the thin, the disabled, the feminists, the anarchists, the loudmouths, the shy ones, the artists, the scientists, the intellectuals, the manual workers, the transgender, the straight, the lesbians, the bisexuals - or whatever... This International Women's Rights Day is for all of you, and we want to share our favorite ways to celebrate the 8th of March in excitement and advocacy.
#FeministStrike calls for a strike from work, domestic tasks, and consumption. A day of solidarity with women around the world, those facing mass bombings, those victims of sexist and sexual violence, those responsible for feeding their families, those experiencing wage inequality, those who are isolated, those fighting for equality... In short, on March 8th, we all come together to march in the streets!
Let's have a Post-Protest Party at the Pavillon des Canaux
Every year, the Pavillon des Canaux unveils a wonderful cultural program throughout the month of March, with the POP MEUFS feminist struggle festival. This time, our favorite spot by the canal of Ourcq presents Maison Plur·iel, a safe space for reflecting, creating, and deconstructing together. On March 8th, what's on the agenda? Drag shows, DJ sets, a feminist choir, a giant karaoke night... All accompanied by committed organizations such as Alternatiba Paris, Consentis, Planète Boum Boum, Nous Toutes, and Handsaway.
Maison Plur·iel Pavillon des Canaux 39, Quai de la Loire – 19th Friday, March 9, 2024 from 7pm to 2am More info

Annie Ernaux at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie
Since February 28th, Annie Ernaux is exhibiting at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie
Are you ready for a delightful experience at phie with *Extérieurs*? This exhibition beautifully aligns with the writings of the Nobel Prize in Literature, particularly those found in her book *Journal du dehors*, and features almost 150 photographs from the MEP collection. Instead of simply showcasing her work, the exhibition delves into the idea of literature being a snapshot of our society. And in celebration of women artists, the MEP is shining a spotlight on the personal collection of Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, the renowned model of her era, with 150 stunning works created between 1935 and 1955.
