Georges Mathieu at the Monnaie de Paris

In the art of sparking curiosity, provoking, grabbing attention, and leaving people speechless, Georges Mathieu hits the mark every time. Whether it’s through his battle paintings, his unique medals, or his advertising posters for Air France, the artist tirelessly seeks to stand out, make a statement, and above all, offer a totally new perspective on art, as an immediate expression of the subjectivity in which he operates. This co-production Monnaie de Paris x Centre Pompidou pays tribute to one of the major artists of the 20th century, an iconic figure of abstract Expressionism in France.

Instant Given at the Maillol Museum

He was a poacher of the ephemeral, a mercenary of film, rebel of the wonderful or even a fisherman of images. Until October 12, the Maillol Museum immerses us in the poetic and fascinating work of Robert Doisneau, a true French legend of photography. A massive retrospective that showcases the genius of this artist who tells the human story like no one else. From room to room, there are over 400 photographs (selected from...more than 450,000 from the artist) that follow one after the other, like stolen slices of life, invaluable testimonies of the poetry of the present moment. A little tip, we strongly recommend you to book your tickets in advance, just to make things a bit more relaxed!

Beloved Suburbs at the Museum of the History of Immigration

They are located at the city’s gates, just a few minutes by metro, and are bursting with treasures. Yet, the suburbs are often criticized, pushed to the background. Today, the Museum of the History of Immigration invites us to restore a very unfairly tarnished image by breaking all the clichés associated with these border zones. Unique territories at the crossroads of art and history.

Iron and social dynamics are revealed here through a series of photographs, paintings, sculptures, and other archive objects, that elevate the suburbs into places of memory and transmission. And that feels good.

In the Blur at the Orangerie Museum

In Monet's paintings, blur, once seen as just a simple detail, actually plays a crucial role. Through its new exhibition, the Orangerie Museum gives new life to this characteristic by exploring the significance of this aesthetic choice in art, from 1945 to the present. It's a fascinating thematic journey that questions the creative processes and offers a fresh perspective on artworks.

The essence of being elusive, the blur this time becomes a strong political statement, a true means of expression, and a genuine stake of art.

Into the Light at

La Villette

From April 9 to August 31, the Grande Halle of La Villette presents Into The Light, an immersive exhibition where the human body serves light and vice versa, through 15 absolutely fascinating conceptual works. As you wander through the rooms, you'll encounter experiences that challenge our perceptions. From the origins of the world with light as a source of life, the first show of humanity, to the ways in which humans have adapted this energy to their daily lives, using it to magnify architecture, light becomes a spectacle in itself, a playground to be reinvented through the installations, materials, and music that accompany it.

A subtle art, which the Seydoux-Pathé Foundation revisits today through an extremely well-thought-out retrospective. Throughout the halls, the institution traces the entire history.

the cinema through its posters, elevated to the rank of art in its own right, both by the artists involved in these projects and by the testimony they leave behind.
