Georges Mathieu at the Monnaie de Paris

In the art of stirring curiosity, provoking, questioning, and puzzling us, Georges Mathieu hits the mark every time. Whether through his battle paintings, his original medals, or his advertising posters for Air France, this artist never stops seeking to stand out, to assert himself, and above all to present a whole new conception of art, as an immediate expression of the subjectivity in which he evolves. This co-production Monnaie de Paris x Centre Pompidou pays tribute to one of the major artists of the 20th century, a quintessential figure of French abstract expressionism.
