It's a complete sensory experience that Ground Control, an iconic space in the 11th district, is offering for this back-to-school season 2025. For a few weeks, this spot is extending its Food Express exhibition right into your plates, by reinventing the croque-monsieur — a classic of popular cuisine and train catering — at its various culinary counters.
An exhibition that's on the right track
When we think of trains, we rarely think of fine dining. Yet, there was a time when food on board dining cars was a serious and unmissable affair. It’s through these forgotten culinary practices that Ground Control invites you to travel until October 5th. On the agenda, a
a series of photographs straight from the SNCF archives, from the Orient Express endowment fund and the Newrest Wagons-Lits group to trace the history of rail gastronomy and its rapid modernization over the years, from the mid-20th century to today. A delicious journey through the history of meals on the rails, which you can enjoy aboard a reconstructed vintage bar car. And the magic doesn’t stop there, as you can now extend the experience with your taste buds.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
The Great Journey of the Croque-Monsieur
For just under a month, the most legendary hot sandwich of Paris is being reinvented in all sorts of ways, offering us a culinary tour of France, and even the world. It's Italian at Solina, featuring mozzarella and mortadella, and transforms into Asian at Coin-Op (pulled chicken with soy, carrot and daikon pickles). For lovers of spicy cuisine, head over to Burning Naan, where it comes with a butter chicken béchamel. Bouboule and Little Drop share the French twist with a croque with beef bourguignon and another with Saint-Nectaire. Smashed, American, Greek, or even Sudanese, you’ve guessed it, the recipes are multiplying to satisfy all appetites. Our advice: go as a team,
take one of each, and treat yourself to a moment of pure pleasure.See this post on Instagram
